It’s not that at all. I just don’t get whatever point @Johnny_L.A’s quote was trying to get at. “People need to admit they just don’t like strong asshole leaders.” Does he think there’s a vast swath of people in the U.S. that really hate Trump, but are pretending to like him? From what I’ve heard and read, that’s more of an issue for Republicans than Democrats; which makes it an odd point for a conservative to bring up in Trump’s defense.
Just to be clear, this is not Johnny_L.A.'s position; it’s him quoting an interaction he saw on Facebook.
There are a lot of “always and only Republican” voters who purposefully don’t read or watch any Trump content. They are afraid that they might see something that makes them uncomfortable with their decision, so they just don’t look. It’s like politicians when asked about a Trump statement: “I didn’t read/see/watch that.” They really know what he is but if they don’t actually see it for themselves, they can be ok with their choice. I know someone like this.
