Trump’s critics stepped in to correct him on a few issues, pointing out that “supply chains” (not “supply change”) is a common phrase, and that it didn’t work under him when the COVID-19 pandemic began and everything from medical supplies to food items to toilet paper became hard to find:
What he meant at the time – I think – was that it was pretty new for ordinary people to be throwing around the term “supply chain,” because everyone pretty much takes it for granted when it’s working smoothly.
But people were no longer taking it for granted, because during Trump’s administration it was not working smoothly.
That wasn’t his fault, for the most part, but it’s asinine for him to take credit for it working when the whole reason people were talking about it was that it wasn’t.
Sudden thought: I wonder if he keeps a clipping service. If so I wonder if they keep all the bad stuff at the bottom of the daily pile, keeping only print outs from Faux News and OAN(ism) on top, knowing he’ll never get very far down.
It would certainly explain why he thinks everybody loves him.
And you think HE had heard the term, “supply chain” before then? He doesn’t even know how to pronounce it. It’s a nebulous term that he heard someone smarter than him use and now he’s going to glom onto it like he knows what he’s talking about.
