Apparently on JS’s return to the Daily Show last Monday, he shared some sentiments echoed by too much of the media over the ridiculous bothsidesism with Biden and Trump and their age/ability.
One of the article’s links led to Mary’s beautiful excoriating of her uncle, the media and Jon’s misguided take on the matter. Never before read a full article over and under a large cookie pop-up (as well as greyed-out text!) - it was that good.
I haven’t seen JS’s segment, but I’d be curious to read if anyone has, and can point out anything he later said that might mitigate or alter what sounded like a disconcertingly bothsidesy position on JS’s part.
“These two candidates are similarly challenged.” – John Stewart referring to the cognative abilities of both Biden and Trump. Stewart spent most of the segment ripping into Biden and explains “When the barbarians are at the gate you want Conan. You don’t want chocolate chip guy [Biden].” While Stewart threw some barbs at Trump, I think Biden came off looking worse than Trump did. I like Stewart and the Daily Show, but damn this was just irresponsible on their part.

I’d encourage everyone to watch the segment. Stewart led with Trump’s (and his family’s, in depositions) memory problems. He anticipated all the flak he’d get from Dems, and forthrightly addressed it. I strongly support Biden and will vote for him in a heartbeat over Trump, and I thought Stewart was completely fair, on-target and funny in his criticisms of both.
I can’t say that it pisses me off that Trump squeezes every nickel out of his fans. But it does piss me off that it is now seen as normal that a presidential candidate flogs merchandise for his personal gain.

Not really to my surprise, that info’s been passed around Republican circles so now I get spammed with about a dozen pleas a day. Some are simply from candidates asking for a donation but the majority are from sites like Deep State Tribunal, Renewed Right, Border Alert, and Patriot Pulse with news tidbits.

Boring question, but why would Trump be called 47 if he’s elected again? It’s a count of Presidents, not Presidential terms. You’re not the Nth and (N+1)th President if you serve two consecutive terms, you remain the Nth person to be President. So why wouldn’t Trump remain the 45th person to be President if he’s reelected?
