They said the same thing when Trump started getting hit with felony indictments.
What’s next? Will he start eating fried chicken and watermelon?
Well, there is this.
( Hey, who doesn’t like a long stay at camp? All that hiking and fresh air…? )
Also, Salon reported around noon EST today that he started spouting classified info on Live TV at a FOX Townhall.
More like he just made shit up.
“Did the former President just unlawfully disclose classified information? Or just simply make something up to scare South Carolina residents to vote for him?” tweeted national security attorney Mark Zaid. “I’m not aware of any acknowledged nuclear weapon that has that type of impact radius.”
I can’t help but read that as, if when Trump nukes New York he can’t guarantee the safety of South Carolina.
Nuking New York being the bestest way to appeal his conviction, of course.
When I mentioned the article about ‘camps’ before… well I think you all know Rump is a waste-not-want-not kind of guy. In other words, after the so-called ‘border problem’ is settled take three guesses just who he’s going to fill those camps with next.
I can’t speak for the rest of you but personally I look terrible in stripes.
This reminds me of something Dave Chapelle once said in a standup routine. “I didn’t know I was genetically predisposed to like chicken. I thought I liked chicken because it’s delicious!”
Can you provide another link, please? That one gives me a 403 error.
The WAPO article goes to ww w.washingtonpost.com/politics/2024/02/20/trump-mass-deportations-immigration/ and there may be a paywall.
The article about the Townhall comes from Salon: w ww.salon.com/2024/02/22/national-security-lawyers-alarmed-by-fox-news-town-hall-did-just-disclose-classified-info/ and there shouldn’t be a paywall.
The first link is paywalled. The second one gives the 403 error.
I’m not doubting you. I just want to read the juicy details.
That’s because MSH keeps posting broken links. For some reason there’s a space between the first two Ws in WWW.
Try this.
I noticed that about MSH and made the appropriate correction. Your link also gives me the 403 error. Let me give it a shot on another device.
<5 minutes later>
Yep. For some reason, it wouldn’t connect via a particular VPN. Thanks!
Also, yep. I’m going with Tan the Conman made it up.
I thought you might have figured it out because you got the first link to work somehow (enough to hit a paywall at least), but I figured just in case I’d try the correct link. Glad you got it working. Virtual Personal Nuisance indeed!
In my case it’s more of a Great Firewall Nuisance.
Is this the Washington Post article you referenced above?
And, yes it pisses me off.
Yes, it is. One part of the article is quite in error:
“Trump is following the 20th century dictator’s playbook of dehumanizing vulnerable groups in order to isolate them and justify cruelty by the state,” Genevieve Nadeau, a former DHS lawyer, said in a report by the nonpartisan organization Protect Democracy. “He’s backing up his rhetoric by threatening to invoke extreme and novel legal tools to effectuate an agenda of inhumanity on a scale we haven’t seen for generations. We should expect him to follow through on his pledges.”
This is not novel. It’s full-on Hitler. Oh, you think that’s hyperbole? Take a gander at this in the next paragraph:
The Trump campaign has also said he would sign an executive order on his first day in office to withhold passports, Social Security numbers and other government benefits from children of undocumented immigrants born in the United States. The idea of challenging the 14th Amendment’s guarantee of birthright citizenship would be sure to draw a court challenge. The proposal has been raised by Trump and Miller before, but the specific promise of an executive order indicated the campaign has put further effort into fleshing it out.
That’s more Hitler bullshit. He wants to strip natural born American citizens of their citizenship based on his prejudice against their parentage.
And, yes, as the article’s headline shows, concentration camps are an essential part of tis plan.
As I said, he’s Hitler.
Yeah I’m calling it as bullshit fear mongering. The Tsar bomb which was the largest man made explosion ever made, but recognized as horribly unwieldy as an actual military weapon had a destructive radius of about 150 miles or about half the distance between New York and the North Carolina border. Given that blasts are spherical to get twice the blast radius you need 8 times the yield so this would be 8 Tsar Bonbs.
Even assuming that the US could create such a thing, there is no reason that they would do so since the only purpose would be MAD, and we already got that covered thank you very much. Further more even it we did decide to make it so as to cow our enemies into submission, as we learned from Dr. Strangelove it makes no sense to have a doomsday weapon and keep it a secret. Finally even we did decide to build it and for some reason decided to keep it a secret, in order for Trump to reveal it he would have had to pay attention at the security briefing where he was told about it. And that is just a step too far beyond plausibility.
Remember his staffers told a group of billionaires that MangoCon would be spout absolute gibberish and wild claims leading up to the election. And to pay him no mind; he’s not that crazy, he is that crazy and we control him, or we’re all fucked anyway.
You’re probably right… but that’s just it: occasionally one of his remaining brain cells actually fires… so it’s hard to tell what is a flash of memory or just a riff of BS. In the case of comments about nuclear war given current world events, it seemed safer to me to error on the side of caution.
I’m pretty sure Trump figured he could extend the blast radius all the way to N Carolina simply by using a Sharpie.
