I’ve read (here) that the thing they are referring to is a D&C procedure that is done after a miscarriage to remove any leftover tissue/placenta from the uterus so it doesn’t rot and kill the mother. The procedure is categorized under “abortion”, and I suppose could happen in the 9th month.
Defamation case by the DNC? Trump issued this as a policy document. It’s not some offhand comment, given during a rabble-rouser that he can claim was a joke.
Trump can’t even claim ignorance of actual Democratic policy since 1) he has at times claimed to be one, 2) he was friends with famous Democrat, Bill Clinton and ran for president on his suggestion, 3) he appointed his Democratic son-in-law as a key member of his policy task force, and 4) worked as the President, talking to and negotiating with Democrats every day for four years.
He’s not talking about the DNC. He’s talking about “Democrats,” which isn’t an organization - let alone a business that can show financial harm as a result of the statements.
If he were to mention a specific legislator in that context, they might have a case, but proving defamatory political speech against a public figure is a ludicrously high bar.
It’s defamation against every Democratic voter. (I’m sure not legally actionable, but that’s what it feels like). Same thing with the constant accusations of being a groomer or a pedophile. I wish there was some recourse against these kinds of slanders.
Democrats who are opposed to him and trying to pass legislation.
That’s not the average Democrat on the street.
It’s a policy document and it’s clearly stating what you will get if you vote for his opponent. His opponent is either Joe Biden or the DNC. Since it’s a plural, only the latter makes sense.
I wish I could still be surprised when I see real world proof that Trump’s cult is damaging people psychologically in very real ways. I can still be outraged, just have to be careful about the fatigue part I guess.
