The guy’s theory was that not only do they look alike (they really do NOT), but they were both best known as “Bay Area Leftist Mayors.” Someone on the CNN production team apparently did some quick searching to find that famous-for-CA-Gov-stints Jerry Brown had, at one point, been the mayor of Oakland (which is across the bay from San Francisco where Willie Brown had been mayor).
As always, the first requirement for Trump apologists is the possession of Abject Shamelessness.

Trump is outright lying about being in a helicopter with Willie Brown, former mayor of San Francisco.

He confused names with calif. Governor Jerry Brown, who did take a helicopter ride with Trump and Gavin Newsome, but that one did not “almost crash”. It was a normal flight, though Trump was repeatedly discussing the possibility of crashing.

His helicopter flight with Willie Brown was in New York City, but somehow Willie Brown doesn’t recall it and never talked about it, even though he has a reputation as a storyteller.

Trump lies about everything. Why wouldn’t he lie about this? It’s sad, but he seems to have reached the point where he doesn’t even know he’s lying. Or he can’t keep all the lies straight.
Right, there’s no resemblance beyond the ‘older balding male’. The GOP shill’s claim that they are easily confused is transparently a lie.
But as has been discussed elsewhere, the mystery appears to be solved: Trump DID ride in a helicopter with a black man and there was trouble with the flight. It was someone not yet mentioned (a California state senator):

And note that the stinger of Trump’s helicopter story—the whole point of his telling it—was that supposedly the Democrat he was riding with trashed Kamala Harris. If it happened in the 1990s (with that state senator) it’s tough to envision how the guy could have been trashing Harris----who never held office until 2003 (as DA for San Francisco).

Yeah, not a phycologist in anyway shape or form. But some believe their own lies. Trump makes up bullshit out of… not even whole cloth. Barely threads with no truth.
He will see it in the headlines the next day, and as long as the word ‘Trump’ in in there somewhere, it must be the truth.
This, I think is why real business people in NY point and laugh at him.
NY may eventually save us from this… what should I say? Adjectives are actually getting tired of Trump.
