How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 1)

God was looking in another direction.

Dan

They both have what look like full (tattoo) sleeves. But what does a UT fan look like while attending a ceremony at Arlington cemetery?

I’m not sure what UT fans would look like, but I would expect more orange (maybe they thought Trump would be enough?). With the tattoos, I’m leaning more to metal fans. Metal fans are known to salute the fallen with devil horns, but it’s typically both hands throwing them up to really bring the evil.

Quoting from the Xit in the link: “I don’t know if it’s true, but a lot of people are saying it.”

What part of Mexico is Jesus supposed to be coming down from? I was not clear on that.

Yep. When I saw it on the news, my first thought was ‘what the hell is that choad doing there??’

I am zero percent surprised that the choad did choad-like things; that’s to be expected.

Last time I saw God give judgement re: Trump, he hit the country with a biblical-style plague while Trump was the President, which… to me… doesn’t sound like a vote of confidence by God.

No, no no. From a bowling alley.
Nobody fucks with the jesus

Trump now wants to be able to identify and attack members of the jury that found him guilty.

That’s basically it - he feels he has the need to threaten them and make sure that their lives are ruined by unleashing his supporters to send them death threats.

Trump demands ‘immediate’ release from gag order stopping him from identifying jurors (msn.com)

Yeah. Those election VOLUNTIERS had to move again and again and try to hide their identities from the MAGAt’s.

They did nothing wrong.

Trump is nothing but revenge and retribution.

The first? Gee, I wonder why that would be.

Here is the bio of the woman whose grave it is, and it looks like she is doing the same thing. So presumably it was a thing she did and the people around it are showing the sign in her honor.

Not to be a party pooper with regard to the Arlington thing, but some of the reporting indicates that Trump was present with the blessing of the family of one or more of the recently deceased military members.

Which of course, means he and his ilk felt free to make it a photo op despite the clearly defined rules of the venue as it were. So, IF confirmed correct, he has his usual fig leaf, but I’d loooooove to see the claimed footage that exonerates his staff.

So, in short, a lot more of Trump applying his imperial ideas that “rules don’t apply to him” and then he and his attack dogs thugs attacking anyone who dares call him to order.

(correction made to protect the honor of trained, loyal dogs, as opposed to corrupt, evil humans)

So, despite my minimalist factual coverage for the convicted felon and sexual predator, I cheerfully see no reason to give him a fucking pass and hope that whatever powers that be in the uncaring universe award him with a terrible fate, ideally sooner than later.

Okay, invited to be there by one or more of the families of the deceased–sure. But like others in this thread, I was flummoxed by the sight of Donald carrying (with help) the wreath. Why would the families be able to decide who helps the service member (from whatever detail was tasked with placing the wreath)?

I can’t find that in the news coverage. Maybe it will be addressed eventually. But it just seems…weird.

Per

https://www.arlingtoncemetery.mil/Visit/Events-and-Ceremonies/Wreath-Layings

Wreath layings by other public figures and organizations take place at the Tomb or at the scores of other memorials throughout the cemetery, although most are not marked with the same ceremonial pomp of the state events. These include annual observances by veterans’ groups and special events such as the dedication of a marker or the commemoration of an anniversary.

(there’s even a link about Floral and Wreath Tributes at a gravesite but it’s not working at the moment)

So, despite our jointly held disgust at Trump, he’s a former president, certainly a public figure, and if done so at a family member’s request, it seems reasonable if your family is a MAGAt.

BUT.

Here’s the media PDF:

https://www.arlingtoncemetery.mil/Portals/0/Docs/ANC-media-policy.pdf?ver=oltsdkPlm-OGBci8aFXBEQ%3D%3D

Any organization interested in bringing media (internal or external) to anapproved ceremony, honor flight or event must request approval for the media separately through ANMC PAO. ANMC PAO reserves the right to deny the request if it gives the appearance of ANMC endorsing a particular organization, cause, movement or political campaign.

So if, as suspected, the Trump crimina… I mean political organization acted without written, pre-authorized approval, and then threw a (physical?) hissy fit, fuck them mightily.

ETA - Ewww. I feel sick having to bring facts that may vaguely defend the POS. If we weren’t dedicated to fighting ignorance I’d just let it go.

Thanks for that information. Of course it’s true that the Donald-lays-the-wreath part isn’t the real story (that would be the against-the-rules photography in an attempt to turn this into a campaign ad), but I was still curious.

I am actually a bit happy to learn this. I was so confused why they would be doing this at the gravesite. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks to both @Buck_Godot and @ParallelLines for their posts fleshing out the background on this. Yes the core issue is Trump’s continued disrespect of the military, and disregarding the rules in place for visitors to Arlington. That he was there at all, I think, threw me from the beginning. I could very well be wrong about this, but I don’t have any recollections of anyone other than sitting office holders visiting the cemetery directly. That background at least makes the story make more sense.

More details on this…

A handout for visitors on “Rules Governing Conduct” for Arlington National Cemetery clearly prohibits “political campaign or election-related activities within the cemeteries.” In a statement to NPR on Wednesday about the incident, the cemetery stressed that: “Federal law prohibits political campaign or election-related activities within Army National Military Cemeteries, to include photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign.”

So yeah, just another example of Trump thinking the rules don’t apply to him.

I found the following section interesting too…

But there are two other headstones visible — one belonging to a U.S. Army Special Forces soldier who died by suicide. Someone close to that soldier’s family confirmed to NPR that they did not give permission for the marker to appear in the photos. NPR has received no response from the Trump campaign as to whether it sought permission from the Green Beret’s family

So it would seem there may be other families involved in this situation. Not surprisingly.

How the hell does this orange bastard keep so much support among military members? I know it’s not cut and dry, and I know voting for republicans is like a shibolleth among certain military families. But I just don’t get it sometimes.

It’s almost like he’s forgotten that the Judge hasn’t sentenced him yet. Quite the Gambit!

Perhaps he can sentence Trump to “shut the fuck up”
