How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 1)

Arlington should just ban him for life.

Even if he (God forbid) is reelected, don’t care, you’re banned.

He was. HOWEVER, as stated in this article:

Wellman said Trump’s desire to honor the fallen still had to conform with the law. “There’s an actual federal law on the books saying it cannot be used political purposes,” he told USA TODAY. “The families put out a statement saying, ‘Oh no, we authorized it.’ They don’t get that right. The families don’t get the right to make decisions for the other people buried there.”

He and his campaign basically used these people to make a campaign ad to try and mitigate all the damage that Agent Orange had already done to himself in regards to veterans and their families. He’s already made it patently clear what he thinks (or rather his lack of thinking of them at all) and his campaign people are trying to ‘fix’ that. Except no matter what they do, they’ll fuck it up because they aren’t any better than he is.

He has no respect, no understanding and does not care about veterans or their families. At. All.

No disagreement, as you may or may not have noticed, the rest of the post you quoted in part was me lambasting Trump and his cronies for his attitude that little rules and laws don’t apply to HIM of course.

And yeah, it’s a blatant, pathetic effort to spackle over his gigantic mistreatment (both recent and past) disrespect to the military as losers who get hurt and die while he would never risk his precious bone-spurred booties under any circumstance.

I don’t really understand that article. In the middle, it states

The judge lifted portions of the gag order after his conviction, allowing Trump to comment on witnesses and jurors, but he was fined several times for a total of $10,000 during the trial for violating the order.

“with the blessing of” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Either trump’s people contacted the families ahead of time to be in his promo, or trump’s people accosted them at the cemetery. None of those people called up Trump at mar-a-lago to invite him to the cemetery.

From the cited NPR article:

Trump’s appearance at Arlington came on the third anniversary of a deadly attack in Afghanistan that killed 13 American servicemembers killed in August 2021 amid a chaotic U.S. withdrawal. A photo of the former president shows him smiling and giving a “thumbs up” sign beside the grave marker of Marine Staff Sergeant Darin Taylor Hoover, with members of the fallen soldier’s family. Utah Gov. Spencer Cox also appears in the photo.

“with members of the fallen soldier’s family” being the line I think best supports my assertation that it’s with the blessings of at least some members of ONE of graves most targeted in the photo. However, according to the same article, no family member of one of the other graves captured in the photo did not give permission (according to someone close to said family that is).

No, I don’t have proof that he didn’t just show up at that particular grave prepped for a photo shoot to try to regain military support, AND the family was too thrilled or embarrassed to shoo him away, but I think the timing and preparation speaks to a planned event as being more likely than the alternative. Further reporting of course is awaited.

And the Afterlife. He has No Business there. Dead or Alive.

During the trial he was fined for violating the gag order, but after the trial the gag order was at least partially (but not fully) lifted.

And yet, as a former President, he could choose to be buried in Arlington (as Taft and JFK already are). Bleccccch.

There was a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Uknown Soldier to honor the 13 servicepeople killed 3 years ago in Afghanistan. Why Trump was at the ceremony is unclear; at least, I’ve not found anything that says why he was there. As has been suggested, he was either contacted by one of the 13 families, or, more likely, his campaign initiated the contact. Either way, he was at the ceremony, and afterward posed for the photo ops at probably at least two of the graves. It was these photo ops to which the Arlington staff member objected.

How can both these statements be true?

and Trump remains bound by a limited gag order prohibiting him from releasing identifying information about the jurors or commenting on prosecutors, court staff and their families until he is sentenced next month.

and

The judge lifted portions of the gag order after his conviction, allowing Trump to comment on witnesses and jurors

Because as it states, he’s still constrained by a limited gag order after the previous gag order was partially lifted.

It’s nonspecific as to what was removed and what still remains, but clearly what remains is enough to prevent him from doing what he wants.

Can he speak of the jurors now or can he not? The article says both.

Which is accurate. That’s what a “partial” lifting means.

Some limitations remain after Merchan’s order Tuesday. Citing “ample evidence to justify continued concern for the jurors,” Merchan left in place protections that prohibit Trump from naming or releasing identifying information about the jurors.

So he can say, “Those jurors are crooked and wanted to convict me because they’re all lefties!” But he can’t say, “Susan Smith, the juror who lives in Southern Manhattan on Empire Street deserves justice!”

Basically he can’t doxx them.

Okay, thanks.

If I were him (horrible, horrible visions and nightmares) I’d make it explicit I’d like to be buried there, despite my fears of a terrible, Tales from the Crypt afterlife of being beaten daily as a worthless coward by the ghosts of my betters.

For one reason.

Even with his self-absorption, he knows and understands he has enemies. The sheer number of people who might want to desecrate his grave from the most mildest (pissing on it) up to the FSM only knows means his greatness will always be at risk. No matter how glorious a mausoleum he has built for himself, he’s going to be at risk, especially considering the nature of his spawn (a few at least I’m sure would love to do at LEAST the first).

I don’t think Trump would consent to be buried in Arlington; his estate can’t charge admission.

And he’d be surrounded by suckers and losers.

I would be very skeptical he gives a shit about his estate. He’ll be dead, he doesn’t see a dime of that money. Now, if he could gin up a scheme where he pre-sells tickets to visit his future grave, that’s a different matter.

Buy a seed for a blade of grass that will be planted on ShitGibbon’s grave, only $249.99 a seed, or $3000 for eleven.
