I have somehow ended up on a Trump mailing list, which provides a few moments of entertainment to start the day.
This morning’s email was headlined: “Elon Musk, RFK Jr., and Tulsi Gabbard – Incredible leaders are standing with Trump”
HaHaHa Good grief. I guess “incredible” is certainly one way to describe this bunch.

The Felon’s name-calling and sharing of disgusting Harris memes on un-Truth A-social are reeking of desperation. While I deplore the naked racism, I’m happy to see that he’s squirming and sweating like the pig he is.
This is just the weird stuff. I know I’ve said he has a kind of slimy charisma, but is this supposed to be funny? ,Or maybe I’m wrong and women love Trump. They love being told that they’re well-coiffed. And of course, men should trust their wives.
I’m not even pissed just dumbfounded.
They should be smart enough to realize there is no point in interviewing him.

I will allow for the possibility that Trump didn’t come up with this. Actually, I’d even go so far to say that it’s implausible that Trump came up with the idea to do this. I’d rather think it’s more likely that Trump doesn’t spare a single thought about service people dying in battle, not even how to use such a thing politically.
I’d totally believe that he had people who see that current military and veterans are polling lower with some of the stupid shit he has said to denigrate military service, and were looking for an opportunity to change the optics, and came up with this. And that Trump went along because he was told this will help him get more votes.
So he goes there, only vaguely aware of what’s happening, following directions from his handlers, doing a stupid grin and thumbs-up when asked to pose for a photograph because that’s what he does when people take a photo, and then a fight breaks out for some reason.
Now he’s getting criticized and it probably does feel like a setup, because he never wanted to do any of that shit. And when he asks why he’s suddenly a bad guy, his staff shift the blame to the Democrats and Trump says, yeah that makes sense.
I’m not defending Trump. I’m saying he’s a fucking imbecile who might actually believe some of this because he’s a fucking imbecile.
Totally plausible and for all the reasons you stated. He cares about no one but himself. According to one of his past employees/aides (didn’t catch which), he refers to the maga crowd in private as “basement dwellers”.
