Project 2025 certainly starts with Yarvin’s ideas. Retake the government by firing all civil servants and replacing them with political appointees. Increase documentation requirements for citizens, limit immigration. Draconian laws controlling women’s health decisions.
Reduce voter access by purging voter rolls and making registration harder.
But Yarvin’s ideas go much farther. As I said, he wants to eliminate the Constitution and the United States as government. He wants hundreds of small techno enclaves under authoritarian rule by technocrats that have ultimate sovereignty over their enclaves, with no civil rights, without voting. Each enclave has its own rules and full authority and no oversight or appeal mechanism. RFIDs that track everyone everywhere and cameras that all report to police agencies. Every bit of Big Brother monitoring everything.
And he calls that freedom. I guess it’s freedom from worrying about politics.
His idea for dealing with the people who won’t or can’t work? Make them into biodiesel. No wait, that was a joke. Instead, he wants to trap them in the Matrix. Forced VR existence where they get to “live out happy, meaningful lives”. Because that’s the humane way to deal with undesirables.
And presumably he fancies himself as such a technocrat.
It’s amazing that ever since Plato’s philosopher kings, every political philosopher who is designing a political system, (with maybe the exception of Marx) arrives at the inescapable conclusion through logic and reason that the ideal society requires that they should be the one in charge.
It just infuriates me that these people think they should decide for everyone. Who gave these entitled little assholes the right to play god for us? If he wants to have his own little techtatoarchy, he can go buy himself a private island and see if he can lure a bunch of idiots to worship him.
And why do all these assholes want to enslave women as breeding stock!!???
I just loath this attitude. I really can’t even describe how I feel about these self serving, smug, superior /hugesarcasm, slime ball, assholes. Grrr.
Easy. Because if they indoctrinate women as breeding stock, then they (that is, those women) will raise children who are similarly indoctrinated. And so on, and so on, and so on.
Let’s cut out the middleman, and just call the United States “Gilead” from now on.

The middle part of that quote is, of course, what is applicable to this particular situation. People like Yarvin view Orwell as a guidebook, not a warning.
Reversing that to “slavery is freedom” may actually be more accurate though, at least the way it’s being applied here. When you effectively enslave an entire population, remove any public way of addressing grievances or injustices, such as at the ballot box, the authoritarians think that people are simply going to capitulate because all of a sudden they don’t have to worry about things like “choice” or “thinking”. Just do what we say, how we tell you to do it, and don’t ask questions, and everything will be fine…
It’s amazing to me sometimes that there’s so many people in this country, and in the rest of the world, that this bullshit still works on.
We as a species seem to have forgotten the lessons of WWII. And we are hell bent on repeating these mistakes.

If you weren’t involved or born more recently, that’s just old history. Sad, but true.
Arguably we didn’t learn those lessons back then, either.
The lesson we did seem to learn back then was “war is tough on people, let’s try not to have really big ones again”. THAT lesson, we’re forgetting as the people who do remember it have aged out.
