So a day later these MAGA efforts are apparently continuing to the extent that FEMA has set up a rumour response web page (my cite is CBC News FWIW). At this point, with a federal agency having to defend against its own government reps and a potential president, is there not something treasonous or treason-like that can be pursued?

IANAL, but if these asshats are committing crimes they’re well below the level of treason. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all protected 1A speech, and even if not it’s probably too marginal to prosecute. Maybe FEMA could sue them in civil court, but as we’ve seen in some of the election-related defamation lawsuits that’s a long, uncertain process as well.
We can only hope that enough voters in NC, GA and FL understand that this bullshit is actually making FEMA spend resources on rumor response that could otherwise be spent on relief, making a terrible situation even worse.
