How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 1)

My sister’s hatred for Trump is almost spell-binding. She’s a middle-school English teacher, wife of a Lutheran pastor, mother of two children: all together very clean-cut and kind of Margaret Dumont-like. But my brother-in-law gave her a blow-up doll of Trump that she punctured on her birthday last night - squeezed the air out of it.

With a big hug?

The comedian was the least of the problems with that rally. Focusing on his comments does Trump a favor as it ignores the many problematic things he said.

Did Trump say anything new that was problematic? The problem is that he is given the “oh, that’s just Trump” pass by both the media, his supporters and likely a lot of other people.

Pointing out the nastiness of his supporters is one of the few avenues of showing people the nastiness of the cult available.

And why are media environments like CNN unfriendly for Vance and other MAGAs? Part of it is fact-checking. Vance complained that there was fact-checking during the VP debate, for example.

"I’m sorry, I’m supposed to be able to lie with impunity. Why are you bringing up facts?

The few times I catch something on right-wing media are remarkable for their distortion. Like Jesse Waters or whoever saying Trump schooled the editor of The Business Insider (I think) on financial issues. “A masterclass.” I thought the guy made Trump look like an idiot and uniformed (not much help needed, though).

And what’s really sad and potentially dangerous is that the MAGAs believe these lies without question. Just the other day I was telling a Trump supporter that tariffs are paid by the importer and were basically a tax on US-located companies and that the companies paying tariffs were going to pass this cost on to the consumer. This guy had no idea. He thought Trump was causing China to give us $billions of “free money”.

Just wanted to chime in about the word “offended.”

GOP responses to people’s reactions to the Klan rally at MSG are often along the lines of, “It’s a joke. Stop being so easily offended.”

Problem is, I’m not offended. I’m terrified. When you “joke” about using the military to handle the enemy within, I’m imagining soldiers beating down my door and hauling me off to a black site for torture. Maybe raping my wife and killing my dogs for good measure.

I’m not Black, but when you joke about watermelons I’m not offended. I’m terrified that you’ll re-enact Jim Crow laws and lynch my neighbors.

We need to push back on this “offended” bullshit.

You guys are a bunch of racist assholes. That is not a joke. And please don’t be offended by facts.

I feel like a wire has gotten crossed here somewhere…

It was pretty ugly even for Trump. Other speakers implied Harris was a prostitute, flipped off their political opponents and talked with great relish about their plans for mass deportation. Stephen Miller pointed at pictures of Latinos and asked if they looked like the neighbors you grew up with.

But I’m surprised that the comments by the comedian are getting traction and anything that hurts the fascists is good.

I think @enipla’s “You guys” meant “Republicans.”

My preferred response is “You’re not offending me – you’re threatening my community. So fuck you.”

Yes. Thank you for clarifying. Didn’t think it would need it.

Ya know who else didn’t look like the neighbors Stephen? Your great-grandmother, an asylum seeking, minority, refugee to boot.

They touched the America-hating fuckstick’s campaign?

Yes. The campaign knew in advance that Hinchcliffe planned to call Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” They knew his act was based on spewing hate, and they were fine with that.

The real clincher: Hinchcliffe’s own words:

(My bolding.)

It would appear that the Trump people are so confident that the courts/refusal-to-certify plan will work so well that they don’t need to bother to get votes. (They know full well that the base alone will not put them over the line in either the Electoral College or the popular vote.)

Yeah. Insulting SuntanLotion isn’t funny, and it isn’t edgy. Punching down isn’t edgy.

Punching down is “funny” only to bullies, who of course will laugh all day long at the misfortunes of people with disabilities. And who are we kidding: Trump fans are either bullies themselves, or people who idolize bullies.

CNN had Cheato on the tube spewing more hatred and lies, which is no big shocker. But what was evident were Record Levels of Low Energy. He stood there and droned on, head down reading notes. Made Biden look like and 80’s-Era Price by comparison.

Will he make it to next week??? God, I hope not.

I watched part of the ‘speech’ and had the same thought. And in addition to that, he came to the podium well more than an hour after the announced start time had passed.

I can’t help suspecting that his handlers have been dosing him heavily with stimulants, and they just aren’t working any more. I would be amazed if his schedule for this last week of the campaign is anywhere near as heavy as Harris’ will be.

You know who else was dosed with heavy levels of stimulants? Yeah, that one.

I don’t know what you meant, either Prince or Price Is Right, either one works for your point though.

I actually did not know that.

But maybe Donald does know, and that’s why he’s okay with the people around him doing life-shortening things to his body in the name of getting him to the November 5 finish line…

When Doves Cry. C’mon, Man! I’m not kiddin’ around!!
