He’s trying to start a war with Venezuela (probably because their president is Socialist?) claiming ‘drugs’ as the reason.

Trump’s popularity numbers are shrinking. It’s likely that he sees "we are at war” as his golden ticket to full dictatorship powers.

I don’t know where to put this news on my list of things I’m frightened of right now. I always imagined that if World War 3 ever started Russia and America would not be on the same side.
I have put an upside down flag in my window. It’s a small one and it’s on a side window and my daughter is not happy with me for doing so. But I can’t stand what’s happening.
War with Venezuela seems to be on the table. I mean, we just murdered people with no due process.
There are so many people making terrible threats on social media.
Putin promised to destroy America from within and it seems to be working. The best investment he ever made was trump.
Not to mention that if we’re at war you can suspend elections. OK, that’s the Ukrainian constitution, but who cares, right?

His general approval rating has been pretty flat since the middle of July, around a 45% approve, 52% disapprove. (I know that doesn’t add up to 100%, don’t ask me to explain it.) And while a flat rating doesn’t sound so bad, when you look at his approval rating since he was elected, it’s flat at the floor; in other words, his approval rating is holding steady at its lowest point. I suspect that 45% approval he holds is that base that is a combination of people who always vote Republican, people who hate Democrats, and his own personal MAGA cult. It would take something significant to cut into that base, as we’ve seen that even when he’s a fucking convicted felon they won’t waver in their support.
What isn’t stagnant though is the chart Silver has that shows how he stands on the issues. Specifically, how people view his handling of immigration, the economy, trade, and inflation. He’s underwater on all of those, with his best being immigration where he’s at -4%, and worst is inflation, where he’s at -30%. And those are on a continuing downward trend; they haven’t been steady. They’re all dropping, more or less (with the exception of immigration, which is about as flat as his general approval rating for the same length of time). What’s really bad about the inflation issue, which has taken a huge drop of around 7% since the beginning of this month, is that it’s largely believed that inflation is one of the main reasons he was able to appeal to the middle enough to beat Harris in the last election, where people unsatisfied with high inflation blamed the incumbent administration and Harris by extension (despite the fact that the VP probably has as much influence on inflation as my dog).
Anyway, yes, he’s looking really bad in the polls, and to the extent that his people are brave enough to show him the bad news, and as much as he’s willing to accept it, that could very well be a motivating factor in trying to look like he’s “doing something”.
At least Trump would be adhering to a constitution.

I never expressed it. I said they would vote for Trump because they believed it.
The “Democrats are even worse” group are part of his base. They aren’t the ones that Republicans need to win over.
