Because it’s a theme that has been done as a “complaint joke” before, and it’s common for people to try to make a joke when receiving an award, and most of all because Trump sucks and is full of envy and failure and has no legitimate sense of humor.
He’s a pathetic excuse for a human; I donf just mean that he’s a bad person, but it’s like someone tried to make an artificial human and couldn’t get the details right to make a realistic one.
US National Parks have long had a policy of free admission on certain dates, mostly aligning with patriotic American holidays.
Well, the Interior Dept announced a new calendar of free admission dates. They added 2: Teddy Roosevelt’s birthday (which kinda makes sense) and June 14, which they list as “Flag Day/President Trumps birthday”. Guess which one was the real reason.
But now they had to drop 2 dates. You’ll never guess in a million years which national holidays are no longer worthy of recognition….
MLK Day and Juneteenth.

Is that one in the Project 2025 to-do list? Seriously. Because some of these actions are so pointless*, so stupid, I can’t picture them written even in that evil playbook.
More likely, there’s a slightly less detailed paragraph in Project 2025, like “remove DEI privileges from the national park system.” But that means SOMEONE is translating this into specific actions. Who is coming up with these ideas? Maybe Stephen Miller coordinates a small group of assholes who brainstorm? (Apologies for my misuse of “brain.”)

My theory is that he said it because the FIFA people said it to him (as a complaint joke) and he just repeated it without consideration because they were the last people he’d spoken to.

Trump himself has yet to be seen making a ‘joke’ that wasn’t at the expense of somebody else. He doesn’t seem to have a conventional sense of humor, so the idea he’d make even an elementary school ‘football vs soccer’ gag seems out of character.
Makes more sense if he heard somebody else make the joke, get a good reaction, and try to get a similar reaction himself
If you remember Barack Obama’s speech at the 2011 White House Correspondents’ Dinner, he joked about the decisions Trump made as the host of The Apprentice. It was all relatively gentle, harmless fun and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Except for Trump, who was clearly, visibly seething. He cannot stand to be the butt of a joke.
Instead he’s just a butt.

It’s just banal greed, but this type of holiday money vacuuming by way of price manipulation on merch is just so lazily crude that it’s insulting. At least try to be clever. Merry Griftmas!
Trump pardoned Honduras’s former President Juan Orlando Hernández, who had been convicted in US federal court for assisting drug traffickers to smuggle drugs into the US and accepting bribes to protect drug cartels.
That totally undercuts his whole justification for strikes on Venezuelan boats. He’s protecting us from those evil narco-terrorists but pardoning this narco-terrorist.
Trump claims Hernandez was just the President of a country with drug gangs and you don’t imprison someone just for being the President. He says Hernandez was targeted by the Biden administration for disagreeing with our policies. Right. Famous Biden “over-prosecution”.
Only if you have the intellectual ability to put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4. MAGATs lack this ability.
Which is enough to exclude most of them.

Honestly, I am surprised he hasn’t started the process of removing MLK Day and Juneteenth as federal holidays, given how blatant his racism is.
