How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 2)

Far be it for me to cast aspersions at the President in Sleep, though he revels in his own childish name calling. Couldn’t pass this one up, “President Yam Tits McNugget”.
.
Back to the topic. Dementia Donny is again attacking Somali immigrants and Rep. Omar. Gotta whip up the fear and lies numbers.

The ‘man’ can barely speak. I suspect his dentures are lose or something. We know his mind is lose.

All three of lose, loose and lost.

Reporter [to Mamdani]: Are you affirming that you think President Trump is a fascist?
Mamdani: I’ve spoken about…
Trump [interrupting]: That’s ok, you can just say yes.

Reluctantly giving credit when credit is due. This was funny.

Yeah, when I saw that video of Trump it was shocking. That is so un-Trumpy it was weird.

My guess is that he didn’t intend it to be funny. One of the things that Trump does, and he’s pretty skilled at it, is to put on the charm in such a way that people think he really likes them. And he’ll sometimes go really far in doing that. It’s one of the weird things about him. He can even be self-deprecating in doing so. Now, he’s being falsely self-deprecating; he is full of shit and knows it, and (armchair amateur psychologist here) it is one of the few ways in which he allows an exception to his “I am always perfect and can’t handle any criticism” philosophy, because he justifies it as being part of a con. “They think that I’m putting myself down, but in reality I am tricking them into liking me to get what I want, so they’re the fool without even knowing it.”

I think it’s just part of that. It was his bullshit ingratiating thing he does every now and then, that is actually good enough he almost seems likeable in the moment. He must really see something in Mamdani that he wants to use in the future; maybe just the fact that he’s NYC mayor. Look at other mayors in the past, and how he has attached himself to them like a lamprey in one form or another; Giuliani, Eric Adams (who was antagonistic until Trump pardoned him and therefore owned him), now Mamdani. Something is in the works, I’m sure.

Bloomberg seems to be the one exception, but that’s also a complicated story. They were really chummy at one point. My theory is that Trump already did the whole “I think you’re great, let’s be friends” thing with him years prior, then as usual that went bad as Trump either stabbed him in the back or did something else shitty because he didn’t need Bloomberg anymore, and by the time Bloomberg ran for mayor they were already enemies.

Here’s an old article talking about that:

But anyway, this is actually a predictable pattern with Trump. Both in how he handles people he wants to exploit, and how he tends to zero in on NYC mayors as targets.

So… this is Trump saying that he is a fascist? Not that he knows what that means.

I don’t understand this. Charm? You can see the sleaze from miles away. Charm. Um no.

He wouldn’t even make a good used car salesman.

Charm and sleaze are not mutually exclusive. You cannot deny that he has an ability to schmooze people that is uncanny. It is proven over and over again. He may be externally detestable 99% of the time, and internally 100% of the time, but every now and then he has the ability to pull it out. Even if it doesn’t work on you, it works on many people. It’s something he has honed over decades.

Here is an article talking about his disgusting charisma:

And this article compares him to the stereotypical modern portrayal of Satan, which I find particularly apt:

It is worth noting that Murray’s characterization of Satan bears an uncanny resemblance to the psychological portrait of Trump painted by many psychologists today. A malignant narcissism rages at the core of Satan’s personality. Cast out of heaven for his overmastering pride, Satan wants to be God, resents the fact that he is not God and insists that his supreme worth entitles him to privileges that nobody else should enjoy while undergirding his reign as sovereign of the mortal world below. Wholly self-centered, cruel, vindictive and devoid of compassion and empathy, Satan nonetheless possesses substantial charisma and charm. Completely contractual in his approach to interpersonal relationships, he has perfected the art of the deal, as when, in the Gospel of Luke, Satan tempts Jesus with earthly powers and riches in return for his adulation: “If thou will therefore worship me, all shall be thine.”

You know, I had this idea the other day. I fully embrace that Trump is a narcissist, but I saw in a flash you can make a strong case for Borderline Personality Disorder. The way he obsesses over imagined slights for ages and feels the need to punish people who disagree with him, the way he can’t really trust anyone and can turn on people so quickly, the endless demands for fealty, remind me so much of my mother. And she was narcissistic as hell.

My brother was diagnosed with this, alongside schizoaffective disorder, and certain parts of my brother’s personality do match with Trump.

Oh, and my brother is also a criminal, his entire adult life. And he has justified it to me before by declaring that his victims deserved it for being stupider than him, and he was entitled to fleecing them because of his superiority.

(Except my brother actually does possess a good amount of intelligence, unlike Trump. He just lacks in wisdom, to put it mildly, and has other problems.)

Hmmm… …envisioning a new trumpy game: DSM Bingo.

Now I believe him:

Since when did CNN get a paywall?!

It was not paywalled for me. I did get a popup window that suggested I sign in with my Google identity. I didn’t; I simply closed that box and was able to read the article. :woman_shrugging:t4:

Well, lovely for you then.

Ouch.

I didn’t doubt you. I’m not a CNN subscriber. Just an observation.

Sorry if my comment came across as snide. I didn’t intend it that way.

It’s okay, and there are ways around the paywall. It’s just that I’d never seen it before! It was weird.

What a peaceful guy.

So, we’re pirates now?

I have a full pirate costume at home, with an eye patch and hook and everything. I’m set if that’s what we’re doing now.
