Just wrote one of my congressmen again. Trump is thinking about sending the military to Minnesota.
That’s ummm… sort of against the law.
Sending the regular army into Minnesota would be illegal unless he invokes the Insurrection Act, and he’s backed away from doing that.
But now, the plan is to send the Alaska National Guard to Minnesota and he’s moved the Guard around plenty of times (subject to lawsuits though).
So, Walsh has put the Minnesota National Guard on Standby. Is Trump’s plan to have the Alaska National Guard fight them?

As @Cervaise and others have said, he reportedly IS being protected from reality by those around him. But it can’t be easy: international opinion of Donald has been blatantly negative for a decade, now. (We all remember the ‘screaming baby Donald’ balloons; parade floats have long mocked him, too.)
If you’re trying to convince someone that “most” people admire and love them, it helps A LOT if that someone is a narcissist, of course. He’s able to instantly comfort himself with “that doesn’t matter because that person is ________” in response to any evidence-of-contempt that accidentally gets through to him.

I think a narcissist simply won’t accept bad news about them. Or they will twist it around so much as to make it good news.

And even if they aren’t - there is approximately a 0.0001% chance that China could mount a successful assault on Greenland. Any amphibious assault fleet would be spotted and sunk, and the same for an air assault. And I don’t think the US military would need to be involved (although hopefully we would be).
The Russians, meanwhile, haven’t been able to conquer a small country that they share a border with. I’m not sure how many zeros to add to the odds on them taking Greenland.

A lot of them, Trump included, are narcissistic sociopaths who’s only concern is to make their own personal “line go up” indefinitely or infinitely. It really is just scorekeeping at this point. They want to all be “winners” however they choose to define that.
It’s the same reason US companies are expected to show unlimited growth every single quarter without interuption. It’s not realistic and betrays selfishness and unchecked greed. But, by this thinking, if you’re not growing, you’re dying.
The irony is that people driven to acquire obscene amounts of money tend to be miserable people.
I’m not rich but I went from being in poverty to having enough money that I don’t need to stress about my finances as long as I’m frugal, and I’m happy. I have enough. I don’t need more and don’t want more. I can’t literally go out and buy whatever I want, but that’s okay. Because I don’t feel pressure to spend.
I think having too much money can be a problem just like having too little. The secret to most things in life is moderation, and I’m sure that wealth is the same.
I bet if I won the lottery it would ruin my life (which is one reason I never play).
Has anyone here mentioned Donald Trump’s new initiative; a “board of peace”? It’s supposedly meant to manage the reconstruction of Gaza, though the founding documents don’t mention it. And permanent seats on the board are available for the low, low price of a billion dollars each. I’m sure that money will be managed and spent responsibly. (Sarcasm.)
