That’s not really what I meant. I meant that they will never be satisfied because their score will never be enough. A bit like someone addicted to gambling. If you enjoy videogames, great (I do). But would you enjoy them if you just wanted one more try at the top score (or whatever)… then one more try…. Then one more… I’m picturing the South Park boys in that World of Warcraft episode.
I would think that if you played video games because you were addicted to them, and ignored everything else in your life, yes you would be pretty miserable. And there are certainly people who fall under that category; shut-ins with crippling addictions who live shallow lives vicariously through video games.
And one of the great things about a video game is the ability to set it aside and do something else. If your whole life was a video game, the game would give no novelty or joy after a while.
Yes, but the (current) theoretical reason for a US takeover is fear of a Chinese/Russian takeover. 'Tis likely a vain hope, but the hope is that pointing out how ridiculous the idea of a takeover is might get some people to reconsider.

The things that seem to work at all with that crowd is getting hit in the pocketbook, e.g. grocery prices, and mockery. And not just any sort of mockery but things that make him look weak.
Rational discourse and debate imply the “other” side is worthy of such. It runs the risk of backfiring, i.e. “if the libs don’t like it, maybe it’s a good idea”. Don’t dignify the idea at all. Mock him and this asinine notion.
I know that runs counter to the instincts of most members of this board, who value facts and logic, but you’re not going to win a mudslinging contest by commenting on how dirty it is while they’re tossing shit at you.

Even if it is something a bit more umm conventional, like a hugely flattering biopic, c.f. Triumph of the Will, these people should be chomping at the bit to turn out. So why aren’t any being made?
