How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 2)

But was re-erected elsewhere: Neutrality Monument - Wikipedia

He’s not the one doing the thinking.

There’s a multi-hundred person think tank that’s been planning the Fascist takeover for decades now. Donnie is the chosen vehicle to put them in power. Along the way he and they are both pretty creative at grifting and grafting. But the power is not where he is.

I, personally, am hoping for a complete purging, ala Amenhotep IV (Akhenaten).

You’re right of course. I just hope the mid terms will help before Trump spirals the country into complete and uter disaster. We are certainly on our way.

Even the best case is years or more likely decades of effort to rebuild not only our own political systems and safeguards but also relations with trading and security partners.

Somehow, we’ve got a group that looked at the mercantilist and colonialist mindset of a century ago that led to one major worldwide financial depression and two world wars (plus several smaller regional conflicts) and thought “Geez, that sounds peachy keen”. The lesson they took away from that was not “Let’s not do that again” but “They got close but we can do it better!” It took those folks a hundred years ago several decades plus millions of lives to get rid of the idiots and get to something resembling stability.

As the US electorate currently stands, I don’t hold out much hope we’ll do better.

“If you strike me down, Lord Vader, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.”

Trump Claims Supreme Court’s Tariff Ruling Gave Him More Power

From the White House briefing room, an irate President Donald Trump claimed Friday there are “methods, practices, statutes and authorities” that are “even stronger” than the use of tariffs that the Supreme Court struck down.

“In actuality, I was very modest in my ask of other countries and businesses because I wanted to do — and it’s very important — I wanted to be very well-behaved. Because I didn’t want to do anything that would affect the decision of the court,” Trump said.

“I wanted to be a good boy,” he continued.

“In actuality — I am sure that they did not mean to do so — the Supreme Court’s decision today made a president’s ability to both regulate trade and impose tariffs more powerful and more crystal clear, rather than less,” he claimed, adding later that the U.S. will now be able to “take in more money.”

Now that is some neutronium-grade spin, right there!

Must be powers granted to him from the same entity that declared him totally exonerated.

I think that even decades may be optimistic. Canada is just beginning to move away from dependance on US trade and establishing trading partnerships with countries all over the world. This will increase in the next year or two. This trade shift may well be permanent.

You’re looking at billions of dollars PER YEAR in lost economic opportunities, and that’s just from a single country.

The Echo Chamber chimes on on Trump’s increased Tariff Powers:

Bessent Parrots Trump’s Mental Gymnastics To Claim SCOTUS Loss Not Actually A Loss

"The Court did not rule against President Trump’s tariffs,” he said, willfully misinterpreting the ruling during a speech at the Dallas Economic Club Friday.

“Six justices simply ruled that IEEPA authorities cannot be used to raise even one dollar of revenue. This administration will invoke alternative legal authorities to replace the IEEPA tariffs."

U. Michigan Economist weighs in on the effectivenes of Trump’s Tariffs:

Asked to evaluate the effectiveness of Trump’s tariffs in light of additional data showing the U.S. trade deficit grew last year, University of Michigan economist Justin Wolfers couldn’t stop laughing.

"Hahahahahahahahahahaha … hahahahahahahaha … hahahahahahahahahaha … oh, wow,” he said on CBC.

He added: “If the trade deficit this year is bigger than it was last year, and this year we have high tariffs in a trade war, and last year we didn’t, I guess it doesn’t require a lot of fancy statistics to infer that Trump’s tariffs didn’t help the trade deficit.”

Many of the news outlets are taking the tack ‘SCOTUS shoots down Trump’s tariffs.’ Though the majority and concurring opinions hit hard on the ‘Trump’s tariffs defy the Constitutions, which gives Congress the power’ theme, it’s also true that their ruling doesn’t prevent the Trumpites from continuing to impose tariffs under some other pretext. Then it will be up to companies hurt by them, such as Learning Resources which took on the mantle of standing up for this particular case, to bring fresh cases against the Regime.

Today’s ruling is no victory for the Regime. But of course Donald is, er, constitutionally unable to admit he’s suffered a defeat.

He’ll go on imposing tariffs.

Trump North (TNA) and Trump South (TSA).

I look forward to the day when he learns the difference between exonerated and excoriated.

If he keeps bashing the Pope, he might get excommunicated, too (I know he’s not actually Catholic, but I think the Vatican may be willing to make an exception in his case).

I think his record of multiple marriages and affairs would certainly count against him

The Catholics generally frown on that behavior. I am a lapsed Catholic - and I had an affair during separation but before my divorce was finalized. I have no doubt I am in serious risk of, at the very least, purgatory. I mean “DIVORCE!!!” which is now allowed but frowned upon.

I can’t remember what religion the man claims to be associated with, but even the Church of Satan would know how to hold a Bible in the upright position. (ref, Lafayette Square and St. John’s church)

I wish I could say that if what is alleged in The Files is true, that would qualify him for excommunication, but I truly don’t have much confidence.

I’ve spent more time studying the photos of that incident than is healthy and come to the conclusion he was holding the Bible upright – it was just one of those rare ones that didn’t have Holy Bible imprinted on the front cover.

This begs the question why it didn’t catch fire.
