I’ve seen it suggested, credibly in my view, that Trump is impressed by Putin to the extent that Trump desperately wants Putin’s approval. Thus the younger man becomes a sort of father-substitute for the older, which is plausible given Trump’s arrested-emotional-development.
Looking at photos of the two of them is rather convincing. Donald always looks either cowed and intimidated, or shines with a childlike admiration when Vlad comes into view.

The Idaho bill was designed to go after Pride Parade behavior - I mean, I’m all for discouraging indecent exposure anyway, but this bill also goes after items designed to look like genitalia (e.g. dildos). Which is how truck nuts ended up on the chopping block (so to speak).
Ironically, one of the aspects of this bill is that it bans both cis women and trans women from exposing their naked breasts. Which means that it affirms the idea that trans women are women, because there’s no law against men going topless (apart from the Idaho weather in general).

Like others, I don’t know where else to put this… My savings for retirement are taking a tremendous hit. All because of his stupid tariffs. This supposed business man has absolutely zero clue.
I, a programmer, knew that the tariffs where a very, very, bad idea. I’m not in finance in any way shape or form. But I can see stupid when it steps in front of me.
One of my best friends is looking for a protest to go to.
There really isn’t a main issue to protest, because Trump is fucking up everything. Our rights, our money and freedom. He has done it all.

I retired right before the pandemic. My retirement was planned with the idea that I would be living in a functioning democracy. It’s not working out so well. I haven’t looked at my accounts in a few weeks. I’m too scared to.
My wife’s parents’ 401K took a huge hit, they lost like 6% this week. (And they’re retired so their investments are supposed to be in slow growth “safe” things.)
I am almost 20 years away from retirement so I’m hoping that by then my stuff recovers, but I feel for people who need that stuff now.
I lost at least 11k. Yesterday alone. I’ve got a financial advisor (that hates Trump too) she thinks I’m protected well enough (also moved over to ‘safe’ things), I talked to her yesterday.
Nothing is safe from this moron.
I was reminded yet again today that I should probably stop following reports of what Trump is doing to the country, as it just makes me want to get drunk. And my liver won’t allow that (although I suppose I can’t really blame Trump for the condition of my liver).
