How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 2)

For about a year after the Larry Csonka Sports Illustrated cover, every single photo of my father has a serendipitous bird flown in it, much to my mother’s aggravation.

Is there no end to this guy’s ego? No. No, there isn’t.

CNN: US to issue passports featuring Trump’s picture

Ugh. I just checked. Mine doesn’t expire until 2033, so I hope the picture is gone by then.

Mine expires in October 2028 but the article says, “The official said that the passport ‘will be the default passport out of the Washington Passport Agency when available’ for those who renew their passports in person at that location.” I probably won’t renew at that location, so no Trump picture for me.

Perhaps we can consider Trump’s face as a sort of modern apotropaic image, one that scares away evil influences and is its unsightly, like the gorgoneion – the Face of the Gorgon.

In response, Gavin Newsom has said that California will be issuing new drivers’ licenses with his own picture on them. Good job, Governor!

Let me guess; Gavin Newsom is getting the first (and only) one?

If that’s true, I think it’s just kind of dumb.

No offense to you for reporting it.

I think it’s real.

Newsome’s whole shtick seems to be “look at me, I can be just as fucking dumb as Trump”. It’s not needed.

I guess I assumed these licenses won’t actually be printed, but that he’s just trolling POTUS.

Clearly trolling.

It seems to work. Or at least, it has different administration officials talking about him. I know it’s difficult to understand or remember, but there’s a lot of people out there (roughly the 35-45% who support Trump) who actually respond well to that sort of thing.

Intelligence, rational discourse is fine and all but won’t reach them at all

If Pritzker runs, he’s got my vote.

Still the best. Sadly, it will never grow old.

That makes me wonder if it’s about Donald trying to drum up business for his hotel properties in the D.C. area. Who’d be surprised if he offered Package Deals that include limo service to the Washington Passport Agency? (Only $20,000 per night for a super-deluxe hotel room! Tip to the limo driver not included!)

Try the veal!

Actually, I don’t think he owns any hotels in Washington, D.C. The one he owned during his first term was in the Old Post Office Building but he sold that one.

Yes, you’re right (though the family does run a private club there that likely provides overnight accommodations). I gather that his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey is probably the closest open-to-the-public hotel, these days.

Still, it’s hard to believe that the passport is being restricted to applicants in the DC area without providing any cash-grab opportunities for Donald.

Not owned, leased.
