He’s easily distracted by keys as well I bet.
Handy reference, Orangeman by the numbers:
You can always add more in areas like children killed, protestors killed, deportees killed, constitutional amendments run over, election court losses, shutdown court losses…
Love it. Definitely gonna share it! Thanks.
Sent it to my cousin in-law that has a MAGA father. It’s rather pointless though. When you are so brainwashed to believe in Trump, there isn’t much that can be done.
How can anyone admit how wrong they are/where, when the facts are right in front of you, and hitting you over the head and in the pocket.
I’m afraid it really comes down to racism and bigotry. That’s a hard hill for us to climb and fight on, and a hill the racists, and bigots will not give up easily.
Thanks for that. Though I should mention that as I read it, I started to read it to the tune of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
It’s the “admit how wrong they were” part that’s the issue. Doesn’t really matter how overwhelming the flood of facts showing they were wrong might happen to be.
(A human weakness that is doing measurable harm, in this particular era…)
It’s been said before but keep at it.
It may be cathartic to see the admission of error but that’ll never happen.
But what may realistically happen is a constant drip of reminders will have them thinking of sitting out the next few elections or at least not voting for the worst of the scumbags.
Because those facts are not, in fact, in front of most trumpies. The version of “reality” they experience from their media has trump as the all-conquering hero. Anything bad that happens is the fault of whoever is slowing trump’s glorious progress towards our glorious trumply future.
You might remember that a lot of North Korean propaganda is about how much better life is in NK than anywhere else. Yes, it’s tough here, but it’s far worse outside. You are very fortunate to live in NK where it’s if not good, certainly better than any alternative.
The hold of that NK propaganda is starting to weaken as more NK people have more ability to clandestinly see the truth outside their bubble.
Our goal needs to be to get the mind-prisoners of RW media to begin to see outside their bubble. Until they’re ready to question the stories they’re being fed, they have zero impetus to stop adoring trump and all things trumply.
These are excellent points.
It would be helpful if some academics did a study on exactly how “NK-like” the information environment of some Americans on the right actually is. Many likely see less of the real world news than do those in North Korea who make the effort to see the outside world’s Internet. I’m thinking of people who are exposed ONLY to Fox News and similar television fare, and right-wing news radio or podcasts and Instagram or TikTok videos (for those who have Internet access).
A world in which Donald Trump is seen as inerrant and genuinely strong and brave may seem utterly bizarre to those of us who’ve seen footage of his interactions with the press (etc.). But his biggest fans likely never see any of that—just short clips that hide his deterioration.
This strikes me as a difference between the devoted trump followers who only get their news from Fox and other right-wing sources and North Koreans, residents of the former East Germany, the former Soviet Union, and other countries that were behind the Iron Curtain. These people were curious about what was beyond the wall.
There is no force depriving MAGAts from knowing what goes on beyond Fox News. They don’t have to “make an effort” to see what’s outside their world, all they have to do is change the channel. They are restricting themselves from finding out information from other sources. The right wing media has brainwashed them into thinking that information from outside the wall is dangerous, harmful, and even Satanic.
I told the story before of my daughter’s (now ex-) boyfriend who came up to visit, and was legitimately amazed that the Seattle area wasn’t a burnt-down, crime-ridden hellhole.
But did he repudiate the source of his erroneous beliefs and vow to henceforth only get info from real sources ?
No, he’s not nearly that introspective.

My daughter dumped him and he promptly got some other girl pregnant at 17.
When the facts don’t jibe with your worldview, discard the facts.
So it’s Make Another Goon, America?
Seriously, you & daughter both dodged a moronic bullet there. Congrats on her good sense.
She’s got a good head on her shoulders.
(She takes after her mom.)
Trump calls woman reporter ‘dumb’ for pointing out his cost overruns.
“You wanted [Federal Reserve Chair] Jerome Powell fired for cost overruns,” Gardner pointed out to Trump, referring to the Fed’s ongoing renovation project of its Washington headquarters. “How is that different than your ballroom and the reflecting pool?”
“What happened is that we have a ballroom that’s under budget,” Trump replied. “It’s going up right here. I’ve doubled the size of it because we obviously need that, and we’re right now on budget, under budget, and ahead of schedule.”
“The price has doubled,” Gardner pointed out.
“I doubled the size of it, you dumb person,” Trump replied. “I doubled the size.”
“What about the reflecting pool?” Gardner asked, referring to the cost of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool renovation snowballing from $1.8 million to more than $13 million.
“You are not a smart person,” Trump responded.
Stay classy, Donald.
Can’t stay what you’ve never been.
See if this reminds you of anyone (2- min video).
- People who are loudly confident that they know everything about subjects of which they are totally ignorant and they are incapable of seeing that they’re wrong.
- People who have no curiosity, accept things at face value, and get angry when their beliefs are challenged.
Come to think of it, this describes MAGAts, too.
