Can you imagine if ANY other president, Democratic or Republican, had endorsed this or required it? There’s no evidence that it’s mandatory (yet!)

But of course, you have to understand, this is not a personality cult.
In other news:
Before the election, I said the three reasons Trump wanted to be POTUS were to stay out of prison, get revenge on his “enemies”, and to put money in his own pocket, whether from tax-payer, donor, or bribe.
But attention-whoring seems to be his lifelong reason for being, along with extracting money from others. I’m not sure which is more important. There’s a perception that some truly rich people don’t need to brag about or flaunt their wealth, unlike Trump who does it constantly.
If Trump had the choice between being a true trillionaire that nobody ever heard about or a fake multimillionaire constantly in the news, I think we all know which he’d choose. Trump wants money but can’t seem live out of the spotlight.
I don’t think he makes that distinction. He is remarkably driven by id and has a simplistic worldview - somebody can’t be all that rich if they aren’t also famous.
To be fair, as far as I can tell Trump has only made money three ways. Inheritance, crime, and his brand that he has been successful pushing by forcing himself into the spotlight all the time. The quiet ways of making money that others use don’t work for him because he’s totally incompetent at business. He can’t even make a casino profitable.
Unfortunately for him, the crime and selling his brand almost fatally conflicted when being POTUS put him in the spotlight so much that people finally paid attention to how much crime he’d been doing, but fortunately for him getting elected again bailed him out.
He has really trapped himself now, unfortunately for us the rest of the country and much of the rest of the world also affected by his insanity is trapped in there with him.

See, this is what I mean. It gives him too much credit for introspection or intelligence.
He is literally a simple creature. He assumes others are also making money by cheating and just not getting caught or called out. And it’s UNFAIR
It doesn’t even cross his mind that other people might legitimately be good at what they do or that they may conduct business in an ethical manner.
Yeah, I was playing Devil’s advocate a bit, but I’m.sure Domny thinks he’s the Best Businessman Ever despite all evidence to the contrary. Whatever failures he’s had (which are many) are someone else’s fault, including those unfair laws and regulations he is either ignoring or trying to find ways to evade through fraud.
Yep. Back in 2016 when Trump won, some MAGA told me he couldn’t wait for Trump to be in charge of the Ship of State. I said it was more like that Trump was going to be the captain of the Titanic speeding towards the iceberg and the rest of the country was like the trapped passengers on the ship.
Today, wealth is the lifeboat you need to escape the sinking ship.
This, 100%. He is basically a bully, and a moron. And he thinks that EVERYBODY cheats. And he believes that that is the proper way to do business.
He’s pissed off Mary Trump. But she’s just a woman.
