How has the disgraced, CONVICTED FELON, former but once again President Trump pissed you off today? (Part 2)

Well, a figurehead that I very much doubt would have anywhere near the pull that Trump has had over MAGA.

Despite all your protests to the contrary, that rat bastard has way too much power and has done way too much damage just to be a figurehead.

King Charles is a figurehead. Trump is an aspiring dictator with actual power that he is wielding every day to destroy this country. Equating them is ridiculous. King Charles doesn’t have the power to attack another country. Trump does.

I suppose it’s just as well that Trump is too senile to be an effective dictator. It’s a testament to democracy that his tenure in office is still respected; in a true dictatorship his bodyguards would have long since sold out to a coup d’etat.

Trump controls the magas. So what?

The magas have no political power. The one time Trump tried to use the magas was January 6 and they revealed they’re just a violent mob who can’t actually accomplish anything.

Trump has power because the Republican party gave him power. And if the Republican party decided to get rid of Trump they could do it tomorrow. The Republicans are the ones who have power, not Trump.

But like I said, Trump serves a useful purpose for now. His loud crimes serve to distract attention away from the quiet crimes the Republican party is committing.

They don’t vote?

No, I think that Trump is a “necessary evil” for the Republicans. Charismatic con-man that he is, Trump commands the loyalty of the truly paranoid faction of the right wing, the ones that consider even conventional Republicans compromised sell-outs. If the Republicans “deposed” Trump, 20% of their support would vanish overnight. Thus the Republicans are faced with a dilemma: without Trump they can’t win; and with Trump for all his warts (more like tumors at this point), they can scarcely lose. So they hold their noses as best they can.

You can’t get to Point Roberts from here.

Not without going through Canada.

Tl;dr: A Canadian longtime legal permanent resident of Point Roberts, WA was detained for hours at the birder, as she was returning to her home after her 61st birthday dinner. The ordeal left her frightened of crossing the border again. She told her immigration lawyer that she was not feeling well, and needed to see a doctor; But she was too afraid to cross through Canada to do it. CBC reports that she slipped in her home and was injured, relying on friends to help her to the bathroom. She called a community support officer to ask if she could borrow some crutches. She refused to be transported to a hospital because she was afraid of bveing detained again.

Every time I hear that he is charismatic I want to puke. Obama was charismatic, Trump is a hollow shell of something that almost became a man.

Trump couldn’t successfully manage a convenience store

/quote

Of course not. Have you seen how many products he’d have to keep track of? I’m doubtful he could manage a lemonade stand.

Generations of human beings never could have imagined that “national security” would be redefined, in 2026, to now mean “inside information you can use to get richer, if you just pay Donald enough money.”

I understand why he turns your stomach, but the truth is that some people loved Trump. There’s something about him that allows him to say and do things that few other politicians could get away with.

The contamination and exposure go way back at Camp Lejune, into to 80s. Dragged kicking and screaming, settlements began under Biden. Nothing stops Diaper Don from claiming credit:roll_eyes:

  • Camp Lejeune Justice Act: Enacted under the 2022 PACT Act to enable affected individuals and families to pursue federal compensation.
  • Elective Option & Settlements: Fast-track payouts through the Elective Option generally range from $100,000 to $550,000, with total settlements surpassing $1.1 billion and payouts exceeding $879 million

The main goal of the Republican party for the last few decades has been to take control of the election process.

When voting doesn’t determine who’s in power, the ability to vote is meaningless.

That something you speak of is his ability to lie to idiotic investors and for some reason they believe him. Sure, they get screwed over (all of his casinos and vodka and airplanes), but they still have enough money anyway.

This is something that should get much, much more attention. Come on now, he’s selling National Security?

The minute he said that he should have been imprisoned, and every single communication device he has removed. Every conversation between him and a lawyer should be monitored.

AFAIK, even national security suspects have to be allowed confidential meetings with their lawyer. Otherwise the government that’s determined to see someone hang would be the same government that would supposedly be administering a fair and impartial trial.

I agree 100% with the idea expressed in this sentence.

BUT you have used the troublesome passive voice, which hides, disguises, masks, cloaks, veils, obscures, conceals, and covers up who is going to do all of these things. So who is that, hmmm?

I didn’t cover it up.

That’s one on the things that desperately needs fixed. The president should not be in charge of the Federal Marshals. Nor should the Justice Department.

How? I donno.

Somebody has to be in charge of the Federal Marshals, and there are excellent reasons why the Judiciary should NOT have its own police force. Congress is supposed to rein in a outlaw President, which unfortunately just isn’t happening.
