I know. That’s kind of the point. There is no one who will step up and take responsibility for belling the cat. We all know it “should be done,” but we can’t name who is going to do it.

Except Nemo said elsewhere that the Republicans fixed the vote in 2024, or at least that it was plausible, so I believe he did mean success.
At the very least, Donald’s attempt to Sell National Security should have brought a few more Congressional Republicans to the self-preservation stance of announcing an impeachment inquiry.
And it would be self-preservation for those Republicans. As Donald’s approval ratings shrink, there is a greater and greater chance that his enablers–those self-same Republicans–will be held responsible for his lawlessness, greed, and indifference to actual national security.
One can only hope.
Then again, if he himself is supposed to be giving the Insider Trading National Security briefing, I’d worry what it would be worth. I mean HIS briefing is allegedly a one-pager comic.
I think that all that matters, is that he is trying to do it. It is reasonable to assume that he is privy to such info. Just like it’s reasonable to assume that he is showing, selling, classified documents. Trump does not have to understand it, if someone says “That sounds interesting. How much?”
Occasionally I wonder how Aileen Cannon sleeps at night.
(But it’s likely she’s as incapable of shame as are Donald and those in his inner circle. And of course none of them are ever troubled by the pangs of conscience—so why should she?)
