Plus the people who are supposed to be acting as controls on him being a bully and a spoiled brat, Congress and SCOTUS, act as indulgent parents who let him get away with it.

What they need to do is give his words the gravitas that they deserve by censoring his expletives with various novelty sound effects (slide whistles, animals sounds, old timey car horns, etc.)
The only downsides to Trump dying are how that will dominate the news cycle for weeks, and tbe large number of Trumpers who, despite all news reports and clinical evidence, will think that the Democrats has him killed. It doesn’t matter how he actually dies. There are enough true believers - both in the civilian population and the government - that will never be convinced that he died of natural causes.
And that means that people like MTG, Pam Bondi, annd Kari Lake are going to call for hearings and investigations, and never be satisfied by the results. They’re going to call for democrats to be arrested for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and all kinds of other crimes.
I’m reminded of a discussion I had when the site was still known as Twitter with a MAGA individual. This would have been first term Trump, shortly after his physical results were announced, who was legitimately convinced that Trump’s weight was the result of nothing but solid muscle.
In that case, I have two thoughts. One, I am beyond caring what those unhinged morons think. Especially if it means that, two, Trump is dead.
But if they start arresting and/or investigating Democratic politicians, then it’s going to matter.

99% of what’s fueling American right-wing fuckery right now is the conviction that Donald can sell ANYTHING to enough people to keep the fuckers high and happy in their power. He can sell his fans well enough that all his minions—Marjorie, Mike Johnson, Russell Vought, Pam Bondi, etc. etc.—can do whatever they please, and know that Dear Leader will ensure that they face no negative consequences.
When he’s gone, that assurance is gone. The literal power-to-pardon is gone, but more importantly, the power to mobilize the millions of MAGA will be, largely, gone.
Exactly! He is the hub of the wheel, the engine that generates the energy and the push. Without him, there will be no one to rally around. He is One of a Kind–thank goodness. His lackeys and wannabes with churn around but no one will emerge to pick up the scepter from his cold, dead hand. Again, thank goodness.
If there were someone like that in the MAGAverse, we’d already have an inkling. They would already have shown themselves, even slightly.
I read a metaphor/analogy for gravity somewhere. (The science types here may dispute this-- fine-- but humor me.) Gravity isn’t a magnetic force as such. It’s more like what happens if you put a huge bowling ball in the middle of a waterbed. The bowling ball creates a depression in the bed and small objects near it roll down into that depression.
Trump isn’t an actual LEADER who attracts people because of character (HA!) or any personally magnetic qualities. He is a disruptive force like the heavy weight of the bowling ball and small, weak people get near that distorted space and they yield to it, they slide into the space around the large sphere. They want to be near what they think is the source of something.
When the bowling ball is removed, the sycophants and hangers-on will be lost and confused and won’t know which way is up.
