how high are your gasoline prices?

I was warned ahead of time and bought gas at 1.69 a gallon at 4:30 this afternoon.
I’m told that in a small town on a major highway east of us prices have gone to $8.00 a gallon. Quad city tv 90 miles away says some places have raised prices to $4.00 a gallon.
We are assured it is just price gouging but what can a guy do???

I’m in the UK and despite being one of the worlds biggest exporters compared to domestic consumption it still costs roughly $6 a gallon all the time. Count yourself lucky that at least your prices will go back down.
