How I became a sorta Buckeye: a scarlet and gray MMP

Hey rigs, I was just listening to your namesake’s song over here. Got to it due to this thread over in Cafe Society.

Glad your verbs are back, doggio. I was concerned for a moment because someone was stealing your verbs, and well, we know you’re supposed to be responsible for verb stealage (is too a word!) and if it wasn’t you, then…well there would have to be an unknown force making off with the verbs and…it’s just too awful to contemplate.

I’ve been cleaning off the dining room table, doing a little more laundry, cleaning out a couple of things in the kitchen kinda lazily between bouts of surfing. Yes, I am particularly motivated today.

Back after a while.

GT

Two punkin pies in the oven - the house smells all spicy and stuff. Maybe I’ll get a slice or 2 of pie this time. If I’m quick enough. I did get a taste of the buttermilk pie.

Laundry is all done. Life is good.

It would be better if I could sit in a hot tub, but what ya gonna do??

Really, nobody thinks that second son is the offspring of Charles, he’s too much like Hewitt and at that time Died had already confessed to an affair, if not more than one. Besides that, none of us in our right minds have any sympathy for her after her confessions about various things. We’re more sympathetic to Chuck and the rest of the family by now. And then there’s the inordinate lengths at which Senior Al Fayed goes to in protesting that they were murdered. Why can’t he accept that accidents happen and that their deaths were just unfortunate? Why does anyone else have to be responsible?

Bah! Have had a good night out and far too many beers to remain coherent…you’ll find out about all of my doings on Monday. Patience, dear readers…

::Walking around in women’s underwear::

And if I really did, you could bet yer ass that it wouldn’t be LiLi’s QD’s undies, either. It’d have to be in useable condition…

I’ve had a day filled with grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

VWife and I went at it after she let Maddy outside without a leash, which is a biiiiiiiig nono. The dog won’t listen, and make a bolt for freedom; since I’m the able bdied adult guess who has to chase the dog…

I spent a wunnerful afternoon clearing about 20 more feet of jungle. Found a peecan graveyard and a skeletal cat (for real). Clearing jungle is so much fun anyway, what with all the greenbriers. What filled me with grrrrrrr about this was that I made a pile of crap the size of the nerdmobile to burn, and it wouldn’t. Hell, last time I played with fire, I almost took out the north end of the property in 20 minutes, and this pile is still cooking 4 hours later.

However, the topper of the day is that I found the little sister of the cat in the workshop from last week. She’s almost identical, except for girlie bits and gold eyes.

Have I mentioned in the last 30 seconds how much I hate cats? Now we’re 2 (!) over the 2 tail limit.

Oh, and I failed to mention that I had to fix the roof of one of the sheds because the ridgecap blew off in the noreaster on Thursday. Metal roofs are slick, and 20 feet in the air on a 45[sup]o[/sup] slope scared the shit out of me, and I’m fearless…

You could come and visit us?

We wouldn’t even make you wear your bathing suits, unless you wanted to.

Hey GT! Your casserole was a big hit with the family, thanks!

Well you don’t hafta keep 'em! And you certainly don’t hafta let them inside the house. Or do you?
You have my sympathy. Lucky for me Wifey isn’t any fonder of shredded furniture and sticky, smelly messes on the carpet than I am.

Glad the family liked the casserole, Bumba. It’s one of my very favorite things to eat. I’m making it next weekend when little brother, niece and nephew will be here. They like it a lot too.

I’m watching Searching for Bobby Fischer, which I saw at the movies originally and hadn’t seen since. I liked it a whole lot then and like it even more now. It’s amazing to me how many actors are in it who are much better known now (to me, at least). Laurence Fishburne, Laura Linney (in a bit part), David Paymer, William H. Macy.

Ooooh, Bobbio, the roof repair thing sounds scary.

I’ve also been playing with blogs. I’ve been really bad about corresponding with friends and family lately and thought it might be a good idea. I’ve looked at LJ, blogspot and wordpress so far. Searched through blog threads from the past year. Seems like Dopers are pretty much divided between LJ and blogspot. Still deciding what’s easiest to use.

GT

OMG, I’m watching that, too!

Okay, I’m not. I just wanted to freak you out.
I’ve been watching my new Northern Exposure season four DVDs.

Well, you did make me laugh really hard (after I did a momentary ).

GT

I’ve been bad.
I’ll go sit in the corner now.

No, no, no!!! You can’t go sit in the corner. Cuz that would mean that I, your other self, would also have to sit in a corner.

And I’m about to fall over asleep, so it wouldn’t work at all…

How’d that Saturday just speed on by?

GT

So, no corner-sitting.
I need to finish up some laundry (BiblioDaughter brought home a bunch), and then I’m heading off to bed.
I’m tired. Yes, Saturday just seemed to whip right by.

Snakes won 5-1, over the same team they beat last night. Kind of a slow game, but they’ve played three nights in a row so I can’t blame them.

Mr. SCL asked me tonight what I wanted for my birthday and I don’t have the faintest idea.

I think it is time for a hot bath and then bed.

gt - I really like that movie. I watched it the other; it’s a subtle, quiet film. I like that it is narrated by Josh.

I checked out (from my lib) an odd movie, called The Yes-men. It was a documentary of sorts. It was slow, but parts of it were hilarious and very pointed. (warning, don’t watch if you don’t like satire).

Off to bed soon. Errands tomorrow and then group project.

Sweet dreams, everyone.

I’m home, and just in time for bed.

gt, I have been accused of stealing pronouns, but never verbs.

Almost 2 AM. I was ot walking the dogs, and that stooooopid fire is still burning. It’s almost done, but I’m sure it’ll still be going when I leave for churchification at 0730.

Up again, off at noon. Nap or football?

Last day of my 4-day weekend, and I was up just a little after 6. Guess that’ll make it easier to drag my sorry self out of the sack for work tomorrow, eh? Dog’s been walked, critters have been feed, **FCD ** is still crashed, and the house still smells of punkin pie, even tho the pies have been in the fridge overnight.

About 7:30 or so, I’ll start the casserole for breakfast. And when it warms outside (it’s hovering around freezing right now) we’re going to remove the split rail fence from hell. After we unload the van and hook up the trailer. But that’s the only real chore of the day - the fence.

Bumba, if you were a *true * friend, you’d buy the house on Forest Hall Dr that’s for sale and you’d become my neighbor and invite me over regularly to sink up to my neck in the bliss that is your hot tub. But that’s OK. I understand. You don’t owe me anything. No really, it’s fine…

:stuck_out_tongue:

Bumba, she tried to get me to buy a house in her hood, too. Are the FairyChats that desperate for friends? :stuck_out_tongue:
