OK I know they haven’t started it yet, well not officially, isn’t the offical date April 1, 2010?
Anyway…I was just wondering if anyone knew when the census will release it’s preliminary results. I am interested to see if “San Jose” will officially be added to the cities with over a million people. And to see how much Detroit will shrink
The Census report will be delivered to the president on December 31, 2010. It’ll be released to the general public sometime next year, although I don’t have an exact date.
If we use the 2000 Census release dates as a guide, don’t expect anything until March 2011.

Thanks
Poor San Jose have to wait another whole year for bragging rights
And all of the details will be released to posterity in 2080, so your great-grandkids can visit your house on the future edition of Google Maps.
2082, actually, but what’s a couple of years among friends?
I was thinking in terms of raw numbers instead of names and details.
It’ll be interesting to see if Florida passes New York and such. Plus it’ll be interesting to see how many seats in the House of Representitives, Illinois will lose
My post was in response to carter6’s.
In any event, the final report will be available to the public sometime next spring. In the meantime, you can go to the census website and look at the numbers from 2008 estimates and the American Community Survey.
