Salsa and chips are my favorite snack food. I also find that they are very filling-sometimes I will skip dinner, after a bowl of chips and some salsa.
Granted, corn hasn’t much protein, but salsa has freash tomatoes (Vitamin C).
So, would I escape scurvey on such a diet?
How long before I got some other deficiency disease?
25+ years living on diet pepsi and junk food here, and I’m alright!
However, this gut that suddenly showed up around age 38 has got to go.
Add bean dip and you will be doing much better on the protein front.
The biggest deficiencies look like protein and fat, off the top of my head. So throw in some nachos, too, occasionally.
Chips are deficient on fat?
The Sodium is what I would be afraid of…
Make the chips yourself and you have the sodium problem in hand. Same same for the salsa and bean dip - home-made can be tweaked to get those elusive vitamins.
With no beer? You’d probably do yourself in inside of 2 hours.
I read this three times before recognizing that yes, you DID mean ‘do yourself in’ inside of 2 hours.
Not, as I kept reading it, ‘Do yourself inside of 2 hours’.
'cause really, what kind of chips are those?
And where do I get some?!
Throw in avocado, onion and sour cream (with the aforementioned beans) and maybe some black olives while you’re at it for some more vitamins and yummy yummy.
Just salsa and chips? Aren’t you a little constipated?
I went nearly a week once eating nacho chips with cheese and salsa for supper and most lunches. I think I had cereal for breakfast, but I’m not sure - this was nearly a decade ago. I wasn’t in a good mood, and when I’m grumpy, that’s food that I enjoy, and it just became an easy habit! I’m also a very lazy cook. My husband (boyfriend at the time) finally broke the routine with a bacon cheeseburger.
I got to post #9 before I had to go get some chips and salsa. How did everyone else do?
Make sure to occasionally switch to the lime tortillas to prevent scurvy.
