I just recently bought some memory off the internet and well… my modules haven’t come in yet! It’s been a week already (I"m guessing that it takes 1 day to process the order) Does anyone have any idea to how long it takes to come to me. BTW, I live in Alaska.
Where are the modules being shipped from? If they are from the lower 48, I’d guess that you might wait even another week. (Taking into account that they have to process the order.) I don’t know how much of a time lag it takes to ship things from the lower 48 to Alaska, but I am guessing it’s a few extra days.
I get ground shipping done all the time. I just ordered some stuff from CafePress.com, which is in California somewhere. I am currently in the Midwest. They shipped the stuff out Monday. I still haven’t gotten it. They said to expect a wait of 5 - 10 days, which sounds pretty typical for ground shipping.
So, my advice is to keep waiting for at least another week. (Unless the modules have been shipped from inside Alaska, in which case, I think wait until Monday before you start getting fussy.)
If your order was shipped via UPS or FedEx, the company you ordered from may be able to give you a tracking number that you can use with the shipping company’s website to find out exactly where the shipment is.
well, since its ground shipping… pretend you are driving from whereever you ordered the stuff to your home in alaska.
it will take ATLEAST that long…
International Surface (not ground because of those dang oceans) can take up to 6-8 weeks depending on where you’re shipping to. My personal record is 10 weeks from Washington DC to rural Kenya.
But UPS ground inside the United states shouldn’t exceede 1 week. 2 if you’re crossing international borders.
I recieved an order from UPS in two days from NE with 3 day ground. And I’m in IL.
UPS ground to Alaska from Outside takes 3 to 5 weeks. Don’t hold your breath. I know because I live there also. That’s why I always spring for USPS Priority Mail if available; 3 to five days for about the same price as UPS ground.
UPS and FEDEX Ground both have great websites that will give you the status of the package (if you know the tracking number).
Both websites ALSO provide really neat U.S. maps, showing how many days it takes (on average) to ship “ground” from a specific origin point. I use these maps to tell my customers how long they can expect to wait. But, guess what, Alaska isn’t on the map I’m looking at now!
Well you live in Kenai Fear Itself. I live in Anchorage, which basically is Almost the capital of the state. (it being the biggest city)
In that case, take off a couple of weeks for the 150 miles from Anchorage to Kenai.
Seriously, UPS Ground spends a lot of time waiting in various shipping points on the way to Alaska. They don’t drive it here in one trip. If it gets to Anchorage is less than two weeks, I will be very surprised.
oops!! smacks himself stupidly for being a dumb a*!!!* I just received their e-mail stating that i asked for a money order…turns out that I need to send it first then it’ll come up here quickly!
