In one of those “hoist by petard” coincidences, I spent an hour-plus awake in bed with my tablet this morning. The overnight temps were 50/10 and my housemates decided it’d be a great night to turn off the furnace and open all the doors and windows to air out the house. WTF? My room is closed off, so was OK, but by morning it was mid 60s / not quite 20, not the mid 70s / nearly 25 I prefer.
So there I was huddled under my thick comforter trying to find a comfortable way to sit up against the headboard without my torso freezing while my legs are warm enough (barely) and the Dope is sitting on my stretched out straight legs bugging my knees. That lasted until I could get up the nerve to brave the naked cold of the bathroom to take a hot shower to re-warm me cockles then freeze again trying to dry off, perform the ritual ablutions, and get heavily dressed.
If that was the daily norm, I could easily see living under that comforter while wearing long johns and a balaclava. But IMO it’d still be damned awkward to read, watch, or write on a tablet while doing so.
