How long until declaring a new relationship?

I was reading another thread where someone criticized a character for calling someone his girlfriend 6 weeks too early and I though “6 weeks to early? 2 weeks maybe”.

In my experience, when I start dating someone we have always decided to become gf/bf after 2 weeks of dating, sometimes even less when I was younger. If I was planning on taking it slow then 6 weeks seems about right but as a rule 2 weeks doesn’t seem hurried to me.

How’s it with you? 2 weeks? 3 weeks? Depends? why have you decided to go with that?

I think that really does depend on the people and the relationship. Probably the only real determining factor in calling someone your girlfriend or boyfriend is if they reciprocate - if they’re on board with it after one date, go nuts!
