Wait just a minute.
I’d rather shave with a 1920’s style Death Ray.
Sorry that took so long.
54 blades. My razor has 54 blades.
I’ve got to agree with the guys who like the Mach 3. I have very sensitive skin, and the Mach 3 is by far the best shave I’ve had.
And what I really like about it is its ‘open’ head design, because you can flush water through it. So it never gets clogged. Great razor.
If you can afford the Mach 3, it’s the way to go. Agreed.
I like the Mach 3 too, though I think I get a closer shave (slightly) out of my old Sensor XL. But the spring-loaded pivot deal is very nice, and I believe is the reason I get far fewer nicks than I did with the Sensor. Plus the handle just feels far better in the hand.
Seriously. Mine’s got 54 blades. Closest shave I’ve ever had.
How many more blades could it have? And the answer is none. None more blades.
Oh, and Weirddave? My razor goes up to 11.
::snort:: snrff…Kmmffmf… >giggle< BWAHAHAHAHAHA…
I’m a 14 year old girl, and found this hilarious. Is there somthing wrong with me?
Mine goes to 11.
Larry Niven had just such a device in his book ** A World out of Time**. You step in & all the waste products that accumulate in your cells are transported to the receiver. Instant fountain of youth.
Sorry for the hijack, but since I have a beard I haven’t shaved in 4 years.
Weirddave- My husband said “that’s a keeper”
Printing it out …emailing to the masses…
With your kind permission, of course.
Mach 10… snort
Loved it.
It’s already been thought of.
Larry Niven, Ringworld etc.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
hits head on desk
WACK-WACK-WACK-WACK
You didn’t happen to come up with this idea after reading Larry Niven’s A World Out of Time by chance, did you?
Or what Fugazi said. :smack: (And, Alan Owes Bess I think you’ll find that Niven only used the idea in his “State” books, not the “Known Space” series.)
Sigh. I have got to start finishing the thread before I jump in.
And I shall shave with a NINE BLADED SWORD. NINE-bladed! Not two, or five, or seven, BUT NINE BLADES!
Personally I think more blades = good. Love the Mach 3, but I will have to try the 4-bladed thing. I guess there’s a critical mass beyond which there is no greater benefit in adding more blades.
“The all-new Mach 20 - skin yourself alive in the privacy of your own bathroom.”
I read some New York Times article about the competition between Gilette and Schick. Appearently, Gilette says they’re coming out with a completely new shaving system unlike anything currently out there sometime later this year… the best guess was ceramic blades.
I like my Mach 3, but it is hard on my skin if my hair’s long. I used a Schick Tracer, I think, when I was on vacation and I forgot my Mach 3 - that was a mistake. It would have been less painful to tweeze.
Sure, go ahead. Make sure one of the people you email it to is a Hollywood talent scout who will finally recognize my genius and recruit so that I CAN LEAVE ALL OF YOU PEONS BEHIND AND RULE THE WORLD AT LAST!
Er…ahem. I mean sure, I’d be flattered.
No Mach 3s for me, baby. I’m with the Sensor XL crowd.
I tried the Mach 3, and found the blade mechanism to be too big for any precision shaving. I could never tell just where the thing was going to be cutting.
When I saw the comercail for the 4-blader (Schick, I think), I had to do a double take and make sure I wasn’t unknowingly watching SNL.
