Listening to Long Island Radio this morning, all the voracious Yankee fans were calling in, saying things like, [long island accent]"…it’s like arguing with your wife…you’re never going to win…"[/long island accent]…and “…Are you really worried?..Fahgedaboudit…there done!..”
It’s really funny listening to them yammer on about how the curse will remain, and how this game is what counts not the world series…etc…etc…
So, do all you die hard Sox fans think they’ll pull it off tonight? Or do you think they’ll choke in the Bronx tonight?
I have to say I believe in the curse. Things like that acquire a reality…just as I can never par the 4th hole at my golf club. The Yankees are used to winning in clutch situations and I think they will do it. Personally though, I would love to see Boston pull it off. Classic heart and head conflict.
Though I won’t say I’d like to see Boston pull it off. I would like to see the game go 14 innings with a clinch grand slam by williams to win the game.
I think all the pressure will be on the Yankees to not be the first team in MLB history to blow a 3-0 lead in a best of 7 series. Boston has nothing to lose. As a wise man said, Boston’s playing with the house’s money.
Are you kidding? That is not the way it will go. They’ll be 2 outs from losing in game 5. Then they will miraculously recover and win game 5 in the 12 inning. Then … (but you get the picture)… and then the Astros/Cards will be 3 runs down in the ninth inning of game 7… and then… no, I can’t take it… I’m gonna cry
See - that’s the way real professionals blow it! :smack:
So a Red Sox fan dies, goes to heaven and meets God. “Lord,” he says, “Hasn’t this curse on Boston gone on long enough? When will the Red Sox win the World Series?” “Hmmmmm…,” says the deity, scratching his holy chin, “Not in MY lifetime.”
