I know 2 dopers personally… both of who’d names will remain nameless to protect the innocent… and stuff.
I’ve been going to dopefests since the summer of 2000, and been to over 3 dozen of them, so … I’ve met a good number. Probably about half as many as Ringo’s met. I don’t live as close to many now (with the exception of the one I live with) as I did back last year, but when I did I was a hop, skip and a jump from a few and a hour’s drive from many others.
none. Nothing against dopers, but I just don’t go in for meeting people off the internet. too many freaks.

None that I know of. I have a suspicion that there are only a dozen or so posters from my fine state, and I hate to travel. <shrugs>
I’ve met exactly four at the two Lunch Bunches in DC.
I’ve emailed a few back and forth in my Diplomacy games. ShibbOleth, (who was Austria at the time) was also kind enough to give me some tips on where to go in Belgium.
Of course, there’s always Jonmarzie, who I’ve known for the better part of twenty years. I know him pretty well. After all, we were in the womb together and such.
I’ve met about thee dozen Dopers in the western coastal states.
I also have one stashed away in the next bedroom.
I know three, although we’ve never met. Two are in the US, Roadrunner70 and lieu, then there’s BalmainBoy in Oz.
I’ve talked with two of them, and we’ve been email buddies for must be nearly three years. We all met up at another site, and found our way here thanks to jarbabyj.

I’ve been on the Boards a few years, but have yet to meet another Doper. The NYC Dopefests never seem to be convenient for me.
I also have major speech difficulties, particularly when nervous.
I guess you could say I know my hubby, my son and my best girlfriend (all registered Dopers), but really how well *can/i] you know someone?
My two boyfriends CajunMan and DrMatrix moved far, far away from me-- the bastards.
And of course all the NY Dopers who I would definitely call my friends even though they probably would’nt say the same about me.

Fionn and I dated back when she was still named Ballybay. We’re still great friends and hang out an average of, like, three days a week or so. I’ve been to a few Batdopes as well and met up with a good group of people, and kept in touch with the likes of Lightnin’ and ScoobyTX, as well as FlameretteX threw AIM.

How many have I met? A lot.
How many do I consider friends? Several, mostly from the New York crowd as we have managed to get together fairly regularly.
There are, I must admit, some whom I have met that live a long way away but are absolutely fantastic people I would not in the least mind communicating with or seeing more often.
I’ve met … um … four. Two of whom are no longer active members of the community, one of whom I only had the pleasure of meeting once (a fact I find quite lamentable, as the afternoon upon which we hung out was immensely enjoyable and he is a very personable character), and one of whom I know Biblically.
Never met anyone, never thought about it either! Never really considered it an option.
Don’t suppose there are any near me, might go if there was a Fest nearby. Anyone near me?
I’m very good friends with jinwicked in real life. In fact she’s who introduced me to the SDMB in first place.

Not counting my spouse, who posted a couple of times then lost interest (No, I don’t understand it either) I think I’ve met a couple dozen dopers - some at fests, some one-on-one. In fact, swampbear has let the world know that I’m a cheap date! I’ve exchanged emails with a bunch, but only one is a regular correspondent. I have quite a few on my IM list, and we chat periodically. I’ve talked on the phone with several, and I’ve sent Miss FairyChatMoose to visit several others, including her whirlwind trek thru Europe with Shibb.
I feel as if I could go to any city where a Doper lives and know there’s someone I could turn to if I had to. But that’s the reward of being nice and having everyone love you. I’m seriousl Quit sniggering!! I know I’m loved, dammit!
I’ve meet a few. I’ve been down to Florida and meet FairyChatMom. I was at Geobabe’s engagement celebration. I’ve been to JCs twice now. And Opal hangs out at my house sometimes for some strange reason.
