I’ve never been to one. Truth be told, I probably wouldn’t go to one if it was in my backyard and the beer was free. Pro basketball just isn’t my thing. Actually, basketball in general isn’t my thing, although I do fill out my NCAA Tournament brackets every March.
I can’t even begin to count how many NBA or MLB games I’ve attended. At least 100 each. And probably around 25 NHL games and only around 10 NFL games, in case the question comes up.
Sorry, there was no poll before
You could pay me to go to an NBA game, but it would have to be a lot.
Yeah, me too these days. The last one I went to I was invited to sky box seating, for free. My wife and I left at halftime.
2 or 3 Nets games many years ago.
One. The Celtics at Boston Garden back in Larry Bird’s last season. Free tickets with a supplier.
I think there was another team there. Don’t recall. Beer was good.
About 9 or 10 Bulls games, back in the seventies, before they were The Bulls.
I think only four:
A Nets game (vs Sacramento) on a date with my (not yet) wife.
A Warriors game on vacation in Northern California.
A Magic game (vs Cleveland, IIRC) on vacation in Orlando.
A Clippers game (before they got good) on vacation in Southern California.
In the 70s and 80s, I attended dozens of Rockets games each year for a few years. I got free tickets from a vendor and from my own company. During that time period, I also went to Aeros and Astros games, lots of UH football, and got to see Jim Kelley lead the Gamblers in a couple of games.
If I hadn’t gotten the tickets free, I wouldn’t have gone so often. But, I would still have gone as often as I could.
These days, I still like going, but ticket prices are skyrocketing, so I don’t go often at all.
I am really not sure but for sure less than 50, and likely round the 20 game mark. I would much rather watch it on TV if I was going to watch it at all.
Split season tickets for the Suns for over 10 years-probably average 9 games a year, plus a few extras (two comped games in Staples center). Also, for a while I had a friend with sky box tickets-man those were nice! Once got two tix for my company skybox here - that was quite a bonus. Came with parking that was closer than the players’ (or so it seemed).
Quit going last season - it seemed the Suns didn’t actually care about the fans, nor about putting forth a winning team, so now we just watch them on TV.
About 30.
I went with less than 20, but that’s only because when I was younger kids could get free seats or at the most a dollar or two. My family went to a few games when we sat up in nosebleed.
I went to a lot of Mavericks games in the 80s, including at least 7 or 8 playoff games. Call it 40 or so.
I’ve been to a number of Pistons games, but all back in the Bad Boys era of the late 80s and early 90s.
More than 10, less than 20.
Two Thunder games, both in the playoffs.
I remember it well even though I was 7 years old at the time…
I was on a Pop Warner football team that traveled to Arizona for a bowl game on December 7th, 1970…each kid on our team was paired up with a kid and their family on the home team. That Friday, the family took me to my first and only NBA game…Phoenix and SanFrancisco. The kid and I ended up popping drink cups up at the top of the stairs. Then the next night I went to my first hockey game (IHL- Phoenix Roadrunners) and then on Sunday we creamed the home team, 42-0…a good weekend for a 7 y.o. kid.
