  1. I’ve been a member since Sept 30, 2004. Interesting that I’ve been on the SDMB and a Netlfix member for about the same length of time.

My number is a bit low, but I will often rent things I’ve already seen. This time of year I’ll rerent a lot of horror/monster films that I’ve watched in the past and when December comes, I’ll be watching some of the same Christmas movies I’ve seen in the past.

I rate all I have watched but just to keep a record for myself so that in the future I have some additional information as to whether I may or may not want to watch it again.

962 here, although I get the feeling that recommendations are based more off the genres you rate highly rather than anything. Nonetheless, the “predicted rating” often ends up being pretty close to what I end up actually rating it. I like to think it’s not influencing my rating (and thus perception of the work) but who knows.

I’ve been a member since March 2006, but have only rated 122 items. I think all of those are from when I initially joined - I can’t remember the last time I rated something.

My main problem is I can like or dislike movies in pretty much ANY genre. “You like ‘Up!’ How often do you view films in the ‘Children’s’ category?” Well…almost NEVER but I ain’t turning down an entertaining movie just because you consider it a kid’s movie.

“How often do you watch ‘Movies from the 2000s?’” Holy crap, how broad could you possibly get?
