I don’t know how common it is, but a 5 year reunion was organized at the last minute so clearly somebody thought it was important. (It was basically beer and hot dogs in the park, not a big formal thing.) I didn’t go to that or to my 10 year. Much too far to travel and I just couldn’t work up the enthusiasm.
57 out of a graduating class of about 300ish. I did some browsing arounf the site, and guess who I found? My ex-husband! I haven’t seen or heard from him since we split up 15 years ago… I sent him off an email. Wonder if I’ll hear back from him?
Really I have you all beat… my school isn’t even listed. We had a graduating class of about 600-700 in 1976. Apparently no one graduating from Suitland Sr. High School in Suitland, Maryland wants to brag about the fact.
And yes, the school is still there and is still a high school.
I count 54 people out of a class of ~450. My school has 2309 users registered at classmates.com.
As far as reunions go, the only reason that I found out that my high school even had a 10 year reunion was that I was driving by and it was listed on the sign. Granted I wasn’t living in Calgary anymore, but sheesh, a little effort could have reached me, not that I would have gone or anything.

My school had a 5 year reunion which I thought was kind of sad, actually. Not much is going to happen in those five years to most people, so to me it’s just “OMG I MUST GET BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL AGAIN!”
I didn’t go. Didn’t go to the ten year, and if they have a twenty I won’t go there either. I didn’t care about those people when I was in school with them and I care less about them now. Most of my friends didn’t go to my high school, and most of them I don’t keep in touch with (or want to).
I’m not dissing anyone, I know there are people who really enjoyed high school and enjoy reunions. I’m not one of them. I got my name taken off the alumni list.
708 total registrations from my high school, 39 registered out of my graduating class of, as I recall, 62. Looks like that’s the highest ratio yet, almost 63%. I notice, however, that not one person from my class has paid for a membership, although many from the year before and after have. My class was a buncha cheapskates, I guess.
The 10-year reunion was in August, and I didn’t go for several reasons; school had started, for one, and I didn’t really want to, for another. A few of my old classmates sent me email through the site and, as I figured, we really don’t have much to talk about anymore. Oh well.
