I’ve noticed that I never use the coin pocket on my jeans. I mean, it’s there, and it gives an asymmetrical look to the front of jeans (since I haven’t seen a pair of jeans with a coin pocket on both sides), but…
I once made a conscious choice to use it, and as soon as I took the coins out to use some, I put them back into the larger pocket. It just seems inconvenient; ironic, since I suppose that the coin pocket was made to be convenient.
But I don’t use it. Coins just go in either side pocket, and that’s the way I like it. What about you?
Can’t stand putting coins in it because they tend to get lost, and it isn’t big enough for all my change. I tend to use it for my chapstick, though, or tablets to take whilst away from home.
I’ve slipped my wedding ring into it - my fingers sometimes swell up and I have to take my ring off. I’d forgotten I’d done that once, and the ring stayed there thru a washer and dryer cycle.
I have a minature ferret that I keep there. If I put it in the other pocket, it gnaws on my balls. I keep golf balls in my other pocketses (my precious)
Actually, my smallish pocket knife.
It is perfect for holding my pocket knife. In fact, I have to downsize to a penknife when I wear dress pants because I hate it flopping around in my pocket.
Okay, I got “coin pocket” from looking through clothing catalogues that say “5 pocket (includes coin pocket)”, so don’t kill me!
The chapstick idea is good, because I always have a tube of Burt’s Bees in my pocket… and I occasionally (when I remember to bring it with me) use it to clip my pocket knife into.
Okay, maybe I’ll actually use it now!
