Since a fob is what your pocket watch is attached to, yes it could be called that. Means the same thing as a watch pocket.
And–in another sense, the word fob by itself also means watch pocket.

I use it for subway tokens, which are little plastic discs you use here to get on public transit. They’re a bit smaller than dimes but worth substantially more so I keep them separate from my change so I don’t spend them accidentally.
And since I forget to empty it when I change my pants, I always know where to find one when I need to get on the subway.
Nowadays: Small pocket knife.
College years: One hit pipe and a mini-Bic lighter.
Haj
I always use a pocketwatch, and my watch goes in that little pocket.
Wrist watches suck!
My little swiss army knife. Goes everywhere with me.
Antacids, when I need them.
When I need a watch, my Pocket Watch, with the chain connected to the side belt loop.
But then, I’m a little anal on my pocket use. Those items there, comb in back right pocket, chapstick and folded up kleenex in the right front pocket, cash in the left front pocket. Back left pocket left open for papers, tickets or whatever else I need on a temporary basis.
I thought a coin pocket was inside and at the bottom of a regular pocket, to keep coins from jingling. I have a few pairs of pants that have this.
I use it for coins, too.
Also, sometimes I rest my thumb in there.
I’m a woman, and I don’t personally use any 5th pockets on my jeans but my husband uses his so much, they usually wear out first.
He slips his wedding ring in that pocket when he has to take it off at work.
He clips a measuring tape to it while at work.
He puts his Zippo lighter in it when we go out, and he doesn’t have a shirt pocket.
It’s the perfect place to keep your guitar picks.
I’ve always thought of it as the “thumb pocket.” I’ve never actually used it for an object, but it’s a nice place to rest your thumb.
I find it’s great for holding a pen or two.
Back in my tinkering days, I would keep a Swiss Army Knife in it. I even had a safety pin on the key ring that i would pin to the pocket to keep from losing the knife. These days, it’s the perfect place to keep my cell phone.
I use it for my contact lens case.
Yep, another one for guitar picks here. At least that’s where I find them 4 days after I “lose” them.
It’s the perfect size for my cellphone. And I put my wedding ring in it if I’m doing something that could damage it. Of course, that means finding a different place for the cellphone…
you put your drugs in dere!
I use them for my pocket watch – that is, when the *&$@# pocket is big enough. I hate it when the watch pocket is too narrow to fit a pocket watch inside. I’ve found that especially with women’s pants, the pocket is just “decorative.” I usually have to buy mens pants.
I’m confused. A can of snuff? A cellphone?
I think of all the jeans I own (~ 8 pairs) that none of the 5th pockets are much bigger than a Zippo lighter. How do you fit these items in there? Also, I’m not by any means a small person, so if anything, the pockets are at at least as big (if not bigger) than those of you who wear size 36s. Has there been a revolution in 5th pockets that I missed?
And, to answer the OP, if I ever use it, there’s a disposable lighter in there.
I sometimes put my keys in there. I’ve also used it for Chapstick, and even a few Altoids. In wilder days it made a good stash pocket.
it is the perfect size for my insulin pump
