Even if you give him the most charitable possible reading of this statement, it is still dangerously moronic. It’s the kind of thing that could only occur to someone who thinks they’re brilliant and has heard a fact but doesn’t understand the underlying reason why it’s true. So yes, bleach, alcohol and UV light kill coronavirus – this is not newly discovered information! Of course they do! And while I’m not asking for him to understand the exact chemical process why it happens, he should understand that it works by obliterating organic material … which is kind of a problem when you try to do that internally. And yet he’s out there probably thinking “Do I have to think of everything for you eggheads?!” because he’s too stupid to separate irrelevant material.

I may getting a little off the topic, but this is one of the most poorly written articles about chlorine and disinfection of water that I have read in a while. I would be interesting if anyone in the water treatment profession would like to comment on this article.

Given some of the examples upthread, I think there’s a huge potential market for a series of books in about ten volumes, “The Collected Advice and Wisdom of Donald J. Trump”. Troubled by a global pandemic? Worried about climate change? Is your historic national cathedral on fire? Whatever the problem, just turn to the appropriate chapter for immediate assistance. In fact I believe there was an entire “university” dedicated to the study of Trump’s unparalleled wisdom, though we don’t seem to hear much about it any more.
