The sad thing is that if (when?) he losses, he won’t for a second believe it’s because the country rejected him and despised his incompetence and buffoonery. He will think he just had the bad luck of being a great president when a virus hit. The important thing is that we need him gone, but I would have loved a real ass kicking at a time when the economy was strong and the populace was healthy.
He is starting to sound like 1945 Hitler. But I cant think of a single accomplishment that Trump may crow about. His Presidency is like a terrible reality show where we are supposed to laugh at the Buffoon in Chief. Only we cant because he really is the President.
Well, Wall Street was at historic highs before the evil Chie-na Flu hit. Granted, Wall Street was flourishing because he cut corporate taxes and they all took that money and invested it in Wall Street instead of infrastructure or jobs or anything, and his tax cuts caused historic highs in national deficit and debt, but…
Narcissistic personality disorder isnt sufficient to explain Trump IMO. He is overflowing with self pity and is incapable of understanding how his actions have influenced his current lack of popularity. He is lacking in the most basic intellectual skills. He should also have at least a slight understanding of the dangers of surrounding yourself with yes people.
Or maybe just a five-year-old surrounded by a highly dysfunctional family.
It’s part of his personal psycho-pathology, but in fact he quickly discovered in 2016 that it is very appealing to a significant portion of the population who hold forth the entitlement of a pampered five-year-old.
Well, he is right for once, isn’t he? I mean, the virus was made for him (pity he hasn’t cought it yet) by evil whatever the word for hombres is in Tchay-Neeze, so it should in all fairness be called the Trump Virus instead of this foreign location he can’t pronounce right anyway.
And this man that died when the police officer took a knee on his back surely did so to piss him off.
And he nominated those judges to the Supreme Court, so he may very well feel betrayed if they interpret the law according to the books and not according to his personal interest. That is a very narrow deference indeed, I would feel shortchanged if I was him (which I luckily am not).
And wouldn’t you feel down if Jared Kushner had set his mind on cheering you up?
Of one thing I am sure, though: He will anounce a cure/vaccine in the third week of October. The cure/vaccine will not work, I am sorry to say, but he will hope to turn the tide just before the election. Why do I guess it will be the third week of October? Any sooner and his claim will be too easily debunked for the BS it will be. Any later and it will not be effective (“genius stroke” I guess will be his words, perhaps peppered with some “very stable” and/or “incredible”) to turn around the result on November 3rd.
I am glad to read he takes this personally. I hope there is much more to come. Come to think of it, I cannot see how there would not be. I wish him depression, one of the sader symptoms of Alzheimer’s Disease. He has worked hard for this and he deserves it.
I don’t think he’ll say it’s bad luck. I’m with those who think he will claim the election was rigged and he lost because of voter fraud. He’s setting that up now. I would not be least surprised if he calls on his base (remember "my second amendment people”?) to surround the White House. Could be scary.
(I’ll preemptively apologize for snipping your engaging commentary. I hope I didn’t remove too much context.)
Of course, we make fun of un-indicted co-conspirator Donald John Trump for his transparent ego-centrism. But there’re still apologists who think that all these are unfortunate events and not bad outcomes. That is, they see coincidences when instead every bad thing that has happened was the consequence of poor choices.
The breadth and severity of the pandemic: completely due to administration’s crippling of the CDC before and during the pandemic.
The economic crisis: completely due to the administration overheating the part of the economy that was doing well while gutting the parts that still need help.
The social crisis: completely due to the administration abetting racists and fascists, while denigrated their victims.
The media’s critiques: completely due to the administration’s refusal of facts and the personalization of disputes with everyone. Perfect example of the converse of the golden rule: when you treat everyone like shit, that’s how you’ll get treated as well.
Anyone who thinks actions should have consequences is going to be against the president, because every single individual thing he has done as president has had a negative outcome.
I can see him now, in a misbuttoned lab coat holding up a half-liter Erlenmeyer flask filled with green liquid and a chunk of dry ice on the bottom. “It was hard work but somehow I found the time to come up with The Cure in my sekrit laboratory. I’m charging only $100 a dose. Call now, operators are standing by!”

I edited a lot of the article out of the OP, which had gone a fair bit beyond “fair use.” Please remember, when referencing published materials, to limit any quoting to a small, representative sample.
He gets something virtually guaranteed to win him re-election, fucks it the response beyond all recognition due to his own emotional and intellectual failings, and then cries because he fucked up a sure thing.
