There should be a factual answer to the question: How many people are there who currently post to the SDMB on at least a weekly basis? Perhaps the answer can’t be determined very easily but there is a correct answer that is not a matter of opinion. Right?
IIRC, I have seen the figure of around 2000 thrown around by Moderators in the past.

The poster kabbes, through some sort of mental imbalances, loves numbers and stats has come up with a formula for calculating how long a poster will post.
I remember kabbes also calculated other interesting factettes about doper posting. Maybe the poster know as kabbes will come to this thread and give links.
I don’t remember if the poster kabbes is a he or a she. I think he’s a she. I also don’t really think the poster kabbes is mentally imbalanced. Except when the orgasms over the numbers start. Then I get a little scared.
This thread gives some figures concerning “active” members, starting about page 3, which I have linked to. Look especially for posts by kabbes, as Biggirl has mentioned. As I recall, the estimate was around 2,000 active at any one time, but this will vary on how you define “active.”

I suppose it might be possible (I don’t know the code behind vBulletin) to list all the posters with a posting rate higher than a given value. Even if it is possible, though, it might involve high-pitched screams of complaint from the hamsters, so not something to be done out of idle curiosity.
kabbes has probably done the most research in this area, look for his posts. (kabbes is a “he”, btw.)

By the way, if by regular you mean “once a week” (as per your OP), then that’d be only 0.14 times a day, if my math’s any good.

Talk about a misleading thread title! I post here at least once a day during the week, but on weekends I tend to miss merely because I’m not usually online.
Once a week? Hell, if I don’t check the boards once every few hours I get withdrawal symptoms.
I think if I went a week without posting I’d get a bunch of frantic, worried emails from people who were wondering if they should be looking for my obit…
You know, Patrick, I think I’d be much the same way. Though I did survive those crazy wedding weekends and everything else…
