How many resolutions have you broken already in the MMP?

I ordered something online & it was defective. I called them yesterday & they’re shipping out a new one & emailed me a return label to send the original one back.

I went to be early last night (okay, I passed out then woke up & went upstairs). When I woke up, there was an email from UPS, “you’re package will be delivered tomorrow”. So I scrambled this morning to find a suitable box & pack it up so that they could take the old one when they deliver the new one. Almost missed the train because of it too. It wasn’t until I got a different email that I noticed that the one from UPS was after midnight, meaning it will be delivered tomorrow, not today. :smack:

When I tried to use their package pickup scheduler, they don’t pickup from my residential area, so it should still be sitting there when I get home. Scrambled for nothing. :smack:
Other than that, I got…snow! Our first snow of the year, supposed to be 1-2".
As I posted in the last MMP, I went to the grocery sto’ on Sunday so the normal milkage was obtained & I also have bagels in the freezer. Think I can survive??? Anyone ever made French Bagels before?

I should stop playing online and get some work done.
I have things to do, I always have things to do.
I should pull out my TODO list and get busy.
I think I’d rather take a nap.

It’s still snowing.
I hate snow.

We’re officially in the Slow Season. I lost a day at irk. I get…a Saturday off!!!!

Woke up yesterday morning with a scratchy throat. Immediately gargled with salt water but I think I may be coming down with a cold: still scratchy (though thankfully not yet full-blown sore) and sneezing like a pepper factory worker. Dammit.

Packed hard-boiled eggs to bring to work for my breakfast – found a perfectly-sized takeout container (so I don’t even care about washing/bringing it back home) so they wouldn’t slide around, and even dotted a caper onto the top of each one. They looked so cute!
By the time I got to work gravity and slippage had happened, so now I have a container of what appears to be a thick, yellow soup with four half-buried egg white halves and four weird green bumps. So much for my cute breakfast. Dammit. (Still tasty, though.)

Hey, I like those!

Oh, that’s where I left tho-- I mean, uh, oops? :o

doggio, have you checked your employees for ownership of the bong? :stuck_out_tongue:

Mooom, just put a sweatshirt on when you clean the studio (says the one whose studio is in the warmest part of the home).

spidey, ya coulda shared fresh bagels with us, but nooooo! Now you want to turn garlic bagels into french toast? I think I’d leave the vanilla out.

Fun was had last night, but tonight will be gym night. Paying the piper with aquaerobics.

This morning, the Canadian Arctic explorer set out on the glacier, a kilometre of solid ice, armed with a bag and a knife. After a long time navigating the treacherous ice, she arrived at the supply station and acquired some fresh fruit and juice and a bag of road salt. When she had almost returned home, she stabbed the salt bag with the knife and put some on the solid-ice street near her house. She managed to return home without any injuries.

Thus went my morning.

They just found the boat of the guys who tried that over hundred years ago, in Canada. :dubious:

The last Doper who messed with an employee and dope got everyone, including himself, fired.

Mayhaps the owner could be persuaded to share his goodies. :stuck_out_tongue:

It appears that our flurrying has stopped and the temp is all the way up to freezing.

Still not spring, tho. Dammit.

Sari I am indeed proud. Do you have French toast makin’s? No one survives a snowstorm without French toast makin’s. Or so I’m told.

The trip to the east forty went well. I am now in the orifice and have had N.O.L. All is good. For now.

We’re goin’ up to large and in charge Dawson, Jawja this evenin’ to see JDD’s ‘rents in the nursin’ home. Partner and He are on a cruise to the Bahamas and Cozumel in celebration of their 60th birthdays. I think I already mentioned this. If I did, tough, I just did again. I’m old and thus repeat myself. :stuck_out_tongue:

From the Secret Diaries of Jack London:

DH and I both have the Gunk. Not really sick, just murky sinuses and a tickle in the throat.

Other than that, the house is de-xmased, the garage needs re-organizing and the dog needs to be raked again. She’s been shedding her undercoat, and it’s coming out in little tufts like Q-tip heads.

Got it! Applied the chocolate. Sadly, mood still not improved. I probably need a kick in the pants now.

Then again, I may have erred by failing to consume the chocolate for breakfast before heading into the 11 degree temps and 5 inches of snow to dig out the car and slide, er, drive to work. (Although I know that weather’s nothing whatsoever to EmilyG. Arctic explorer indeed!)

After feeding [del]my boss[/del] the cat this morning, I had a nice long lie-in. Got up about half an hour ago to see this white stuff falling from the sky and covering everything. It’s light, but steady, and I suspect by the morning we’ll have a few inches. Joy.

I don’t remember this story. I can haz linky?

gotti that’s what I’ve been going through. Not really sick but really messed up sinuses. Hope y’all are over this soonest.

One of the places I place folks for trainin’ does background checks bein’ as they are a place that works with kids. So, the background check was ordered on December first and still has not come back. Bear (heh!) in mind this usually takes no more than a week, usually. Seems the problem is stuff keeps poppin’ up. Lots of change of address, movin’ around several states, aliases and such. I talked with my contact at the agency this afternoon who informed me of this and says the check should be completed by Thursday this week. I’m kind of surprised at how extensive these background checks can be. Apparently they are pretty thorough and intense things. Then again, this particular person has had four changes of address in the past five months so I reckon I should not be surprised at this.

Thus goeth my afternoon at irk. How y’all doin’?

Actually Swampy I do have French Toast makings. I doubt I will make it, not when I have a houseful of better things to eat.
French toast is only slightly above pancakes which are pretty close to rock bottom when it comes to food I want to eat.
I bought the eggs and bread, along with sausage and cheese to make that nice brunch casserole we had at xmas. I’m going to make a smaller four serving one and heat up a square every morning for breakfast.
That sounds a lot better than French toast.

Looks like the snow finally stopped.
Some kids came by and shoveled the sidewalk, I have no idea if they expect to be paid or not. They didn’t ask first.
I think it would be kind of stupid to pay some kids to shovel when I have a healthy 19yo living here.

My job annoys me sometimes, although they are far from the only ones who do this.
They added a new function to to website but instead of calling it a function, it is called a functionality.

Good on you Midget although I wish you had brought me some salt as well. My biggest fear is we are going to shovel the sidewalk and then the snow will melt a little, run back into the sidewalk and it will turn to ice. That side of the house gets full sun.
It’s been a long time since I have been required to shovel a walk.
My mothers neighborhood has no public sidewalks.

Speaking of her, she is making me crazy.
She says she wants to move into a senior complex. She has lots of friends who live there and they are encouraging her to move out there.
One day she says she will the next day she doesn’t want to. Now her excuse is where will we have Thanksgiving and Christmas if she moves? My older niece has a big house and I figure by next year I will be settled enough to have it here, if nobody minds driving 2 hours to get here.
The point is though is that it is a bull crap reason.
y mothers house isn’t that big. When she opens her dining table big enough for everybody we almost have to open the sliding glass door to the porch and put one end chair out there. The other end chair is up against the hallway wall. Once everybody is seated nobody can move. Whoever is on the kitchen side has to do all the jumping and fetching. If somebody wants to get up everybody around them has to get up. If somebody needs to go down the hall the people at that end need to get up to let them through. The skinniest ones have to sit on the china cabinet side.
The kids at least can slide out of their seats and crawl under the table to get out.
When I pointed this out to her she just went off on me, yelling at me about how I am making a big deal out of some little inconvenience.
She bitches and bitches and bitches some more about how the house is too much for her, how she doesn’t want to do yard work anymore, that the neighbors have to help her take the trash out because the can is too heavy for her, and of course nobody helps her. Both of my nieces have gone over to help her and she still bitches because … well because.
She should just move but she won’t. She’ll talk about it and talk about it but she won’t do it.
Her recently deceased bf was a hoarder, the one before him was even worse - not hoards as bad as you see on TV but bad enough. So she bitches about the clutter, then when the deceased ex’s son came and got his father’s stuff she bitched about the son being greedy and taking everything.
I swear the woman isn’t happy unless she is unhappy.

I think every family has someone like that, Sari.
