How many resolutions have you broken already in the MMP?

The snow has stopped and the sun is peeking thru the clouds. Supper will be salmon, twice-baked N.O.T.s, and Parmesan zucchini spears.

**FCD **is crashed on the couch right now. He worked a long day - I guess that gives him some credit time, which is good. Meanwhile, he’s snoozing.

So goes life at FairyChatEstates.

Slooowly backs away from Midget but not too slowly
Sari, you should request “dibs” on the chair on the porch; that way when you’ve had enough of HFH you can just close the door & enjoy some peace & quiet.
My experiment went well! -
I threw some running clothes into a bag & went to the gym at lunch. They are one block from the subway/underground entrance. Ran almost 3 miles w/o it snowing or being slippy-sloppy except for the first/last block. There’s even a bonus in that, while the stairwells are open to the street, it’s not nearly as cold down there as it is one story above (which was only 23° before the wind chill) I think I have a new cold-weather running spot.
::Invites red for French bagel breakfast::

I only stab salt bags, not people.

I finally finished the story I started working on before Christmas. Well, I call it a story but it’s really an extremely rough draft. It is done, however and I have something to start polishing. I even came up with a kickin’ end that foreshadows the rest of the tale.

\m/

Was it a folding /buck knife, or were you walking down the street with a butcher’s knife in hand?

Howdy Y’all! Irk is over and we have ingested broccoli ‘n beef which was yum. The little hole in the wall Chinese plade just down the road does amazin’ foodstuffs. Shortly we shall head out to large and in charge Dawson to visit the old folk. I’m sure they’re havin’ their dindin about now.

On the plus side, OYKW is spendin’ the night, so YAY!

Laterz!

It was a fairly large ordinary kitchen knife. And I kept it inside my bag, I wasn’t waving it around in front of me while walking/shuffling down the street. :stuck_out_tongue:

Supper was good - I topped the salmon with a mayo/horseradish mixture, then broiled it. I just wish I’d had shredded parm instead of the grated stuff - it would have made the zukes so much better. Still, good supper.

I’ve begun working on future nephew-in-law’s afghan, but I may have to start over with a different hook. Luckily, I’ve only done a couple of rows. Now I just have to figure out how many rows/columns of sky blue will be between the blocks of navy blue.

Happy belated Red Day!

I haz the sinus Blurf. Which apparently gets autocorrected to a title case. :dubious: I think I’ve had it for weeks, but I thought it was the wind or my migraines or a new medication for my migraines. I finally realized my son had a sinus infection and then the lightbulb went off. I feel like an idiot. With a head full off cotton, ears that won’t pop, constant ringing, and that annoying lightheaded feeling you get with a cold. Started antibiotics last night and am cuddled up in bed with 2 cats and a dog. I don’t even mind being sick. Most peace I’ve had in ages. :stuck_out_tongue:

Resolutions… Hmmm… Yes, I will make some. Maybe.

Time to recline. MWAH!!

I know Rosie
sometimes I can let it roll off but not lately.

Swampy, did you know that Brussel sprouts and broccoli are the same species?

Zucchinis and pumpkins are apparently also version of the same species. (As each other, not the same species as broccoli etc.)

This is…odd.

Hey, I’m trying to frighten Swampy!
Besides, whoever carved a zucchini for Halloween?
:dubious:

Forgot to add, have not taken down the Christmas-y stuff, and i don’t care. It’s cheerful and I am Blurf. So there neighbors!

Anyone else do strange things like watch JewelryTV when they’re under the weather? I don’t normally, but when my head’s fuzzy like this, it’s mesmerizing. Ooh, shiny! Look at that Tanzanite/tricolor what’sit. Fortunately I’m too muddled too actually order the shinies. I wonder if I can self-hypnotize using the twinkling, rotating shinies. You will clean the house/organize the closets/put up the garden bed…

Right. Time to turn off the shinies. Enough shinies.

We used to carve swedes (rutabagas to you, not unfortunate passing Swedish people- note lower case). They’re really annoying to carve; they’re not hollow, for starters.

It was common locally though- pumpkins was for rich folks.
The tidying isn’t going too well at the moment- it’s looking worse than it was when I started. I’m too easily distracted, and prone to thinking putting things in bags ready to take to the recycling centre is exactly the same thing as actually taking them. Even when the bags then sit there for several days.

spidey, as long as the French bagels are either garlic or vanilla, we’re in.

flyttap, most of us who have planted non-hybrid veggies figure out sooner or later that you have to put enough distance between the cukes and melons, the different squishes and various cruciferous types to avoid cross pollination. One year, there were these odd looking melons that weren’t sweet where I planted honeydew. :stuck_out_tongue:

Aqua-aerobicized (and <snerk> breathing heavy), home, nuking a frozen plate of leftover new year’s dinner and de-xmased. After supper, it’s playtime in the studio.

Howdy Y’all! Home from visitatin’ the old folk. ‘Twas a nice, pleasant visit. Glad to be home and in my sleepy clothes though. Matter of fact OYKW is abed as I post watchin’ teevee. I shall go join him shortly. I’s tahrd!

flytrap apparently pineapple and Spanish moss are related, but I ain’t fixin’ to chow down on moss. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

Brussel sprouts are the bastard red-headed stepchildren of that family.
