How many times has Tom Delay been in trouble with the law

I think he has been investigated 3-5x for ethics violations and fundraising violations. Does anyone know for sure how many times he has been investigated, when and for what?

On the subject I just have to say I admire Delay’s balls in this whole proceeding. most people sheepishly go along with a criminal/civil prosecution fully cooperating with police and never fighting back. Delay has hired a team of lawyers and is now trying to destroy Earle’s career and reputation. Good for him.

I’ve never seen them myself. snicker

And if he’s found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt of some or all charges against him, will you still say good for him?

I think its great when people fight back against the law. People are far too willing to give up without a fight in the judicial system.

Or, they realize they were wrong and accept the consequences of their actions.

Delay isn’t fighting the law, or at least, if he is, it isn’t a noble fight. He’s using the law to try and weasel out of taking his own medicine.

After being charged with a crime, how many politicians in recent memory have said, in effect, “Okay, you got me. I did it.”

If any of the following are indicted, how many will immediately cave?

Libby?
Rove?
Abramoff?
Frist?
Et al?

Violating Senate ethics rules isn’t (necessarily) a legal issue. It’s, well… an ethical issue.

He’s currently indicted for conspiracy and for violating campaign finance law.

Wesley Clark, please note that you are in GQ. Please leave political statements out. Rest, please keep your answers factual.

Thank you.

Withdrawn.

But in all due respect to Your Honor, the General from the great state of Indiana opened the door.

I said “I think its great that he is fighting back”. That is not a political statement. Maybe a personal statement about the judicial system and my feelings about it.

Anyway, forget all that. Does anyone know how many times Delay has been charged or investigated for criminal & ethics charges?

Wesley.

Mod note

Why can’t you be content to just ask a question(your first post) in GQ, then sit back and let people give factual answers.

Your second post was totally out of place in GQ. If you want to rant, take it to the Pit. If you want to start a debate, we have a forum. ANYWHERE but in GQ.

Thanks.

since the day he was sworn.

Just bein’ DeLay

That’s just a little bit more than the law will allow…o/`

jayjay. What does this have to do with answering the OP? If you don’t have anything factual to add, then don’t post.
