How many times have you masturbated in the shower/tub in the past 30 days? (solo only)

Soap/shampoo is a bad lubricant. So is plain water. Conditioner is fine, though. Or you can keep a lotion bottle handy.

Say what?

(Catholic, who must have missed that day in Catechism. Not that I worry about what a bunch of people who gave up sex has to say about sex…)

Since soap’s irritating/degreasing properties make it a poor choice of lubricant for this purpose, and water tends to wash away lube, there are two things that need to happen to ensure a pleasant time:

-either have a bottle of lotion in the shower for easy access, or apply a couple of squirts of lotion to your hand before heading to the shower

and

-position yourself so that shower water isn’t washing down your Fun Zone.

Best bet is to stand with your back to the shower, making sure that the water doesn’t come over the tops of your shoulders to run down your front.

I a chick and I voted " 0 ". For the same reason I don’t enjoy getting it on in a pool; the water washes away all my juices. Plus, I really enjoy showers for relieving the stress in my muscles and whatnot and I can’t be arsed to divert attention away from that.

You must have missed the “Forgive me Father for I have sinned” clause in that religion.

Comes in handy for lots of things.

You are supposed to use the hot water.

In a manner of speaking.

I was on 30+ before I realized you meant monthly instead of daily.

I tend not to anymore, though I did this all the time back when I was a teenager.

I just don’t prefer the mess it leaves. After I finish, my “stuff” tends to mix with the soap/shampoo and stick to the hairs on my skin. I actually feel kind of dirty when I get out of the shower because of it.

That’s not to say I never do this anymore, but it’s probably been 3 or 4 months since my last go-round.

Total number ever is probably less than 30. I can’t imagine people doing this 30 times a month: I did that occasionally growing up but not entirely in the shower/bath!

Masturbating in bed and the go to sleep without washing up? That’s…disgusting. And that’s saying a lot coming from a dirty hippie.

We sometimes have sex in bed and go to sleep without washing up.

I’m boggled that you would never have heard this.

Well, like I said, I pretty much ignore the Church when it comes to matters of reproduction. When they start writing me checks for child-support, I’ll pay attention, but until then… naw.

My daughter went through sex-ed at the Catholic School and, looking at the materials, I can definitely say that “masturbation is a sin” was not something that was taught.

That’s why you lather up. You gotta get a little clean before you start getting dirty.

Zero.

Zero for me too.

I’m a chick, and I  my hand-held shower head.

It may not have been taught, but it’s definitely true. Any sexual activity that can’t result in procreation is a sin (masturbation, oral/anal sex, the use of birth control, etc.). This is a tenet of Catholic teaching that has not changed in 2000+ years.

They never told us directly in the Catholic grade school I went to but somehow they got the message across because we all knew that masturbation was forbidden. I spent my teen years in a near constant state of guilt. I was in a state of guilt four or five times most days. Fortunately I stopped believing in god when I went to college so the guilt finally went away.

Ex-Catholic here and while I can’t remember anything specific being said about masturbation, I did get the idea that it was frowned upon (this was the 1950’s-60’s, so talking about things like this out loud in religious educational situations were…infrequent).

I have waxed the dolphin in showers and tubs on occasion when I was young and having a erection was as easy as thinking about it, but it was not particulary satisfying and I don’t think I’ve fired off a round in the tub for at least a decade or more.
