How much daylight have you saved?

Oh, no! I sold all my daylight to buy you a nightlight, and you traded all your darkness for a bottle of SPF 45!

I’m a native Arizonan and I’m glad I don’t have to worry about this nonsense.

Whatever daylight I saved today I lost in wages, because the trains were cancelled and replaced by buses. And as we all know, buses use a lot more daylight than trains.

I hate having to work the first day of daylight saving time, night duty excepted.

This year, forget the first day – the entire week was shot to hell. Zombies everywhere …

i thought i would have a good chunk of my daylight savings to play with this winter, but no, it was all burnt up when my bar stayed open an extra hour tonight. last night. this morning. whatever.

anyway, it’s all gone. even the fricken dj taunted us… “it’s 1:59:45am! oh no!! it’s 1:59:50! oh no!! it’s 1:59:55! oh no!! … it’s … 1:00am!! hoooray!”

Damnit!

So that means I’ve lost all the daylight I’ve saved?

Your bar actually stayed open the extra hour?! I’ve never been in a bar the night DST ends that they’ve actually turned the clock back before closing time…

You don’t live in New York where the closing time is 4:00 a.m.

Last night I left a bar after the first 1:00 a.m., but they were going to be open until 4:00 EST (5:00 EDT).

No, PA has a 2AM closing time.

I live a stone’s throw south of the Arctic Circle.

We experience about 6 weeks of almost 24 hours of daylight (sun dips below the horizon, but it doesn’t get dark enough to trigger the automatic street lights).

Dutifully, we set the clocks forward and back like most of the rest of the world. I don’t know how we intend on conserving any more daylight than already exists.

There isn’t any payback for observing DST- we get a reciprocal 22 hours of darkness in the winter.

Here’s a picture of the sun on the horizon at noon in early December.

I saved a bit of daylight but I put it somewhere safe and now I can’t lay my hands on it. I suppose that means the cat’s eaten it. Might explain why she’s so white and shiny…

On the plus side, that’s going to make it really easy to clean the litter box.

I think I spent mine all on booze.

Christ no!!
My poor vcrs!!

they do every year. in fact, most nightclubs in toronto do (don’t really know about other pubs, etc… i’m never in them on weekends, i’m working.) after all, as the dj pointed out, on fall clock change day, it’s 1:59am, then a minute later it’s 1:00am.

Well, to you, yes. But it’s not really “lost”, we just pocketed it / the money we would have spent on it for the good of The Company. So rest assured that you have made The Company a better place by opting not to cash in on your daylight when you could have. (and got me a new BMW. hehe)

In the immediate sense, but due to laws of physical conservation, eventually a new star will coalesce.

Super nitpick here, but it is Daylight Saving Time, not Savings.

I keep my saved daylight in the fridge. It lasts longer that way. No matter how many times I open the fridge door to look at what I’ve saved, more spills out.
