Gas is now 1.98[sup]9[/sup] here.
How much are you paying at the pump to fill up?
One of the nice things about living in the petrochemical refinery state is the price of gas. In general, the transportation costs added on are quite low, and there’s no interstate taxation going on.
That said, it’s still pretty fricking high. I paid $1.80/gallon this morning. Easily the highest price I’ve paid in 18 years behind the wheel.
As of last night I paid $2.09 for regular.
It was windy so I didn’t fill up, but for $15 I got a little under 3/4 of a tank.
$2.05[sup]9[/sup] at the corner station by my house. It’ll probably be up to $2.07 by the time I am off work and drive by there on my way home. The lowest I have seen is $1.97[sup]9[/sup], when I filled up two nights ago, to the tune of $18.10. I’m just glad my car (Nissan Sentra) gets good gas mileage.
1.79/gallon here for regular.
I wish I could fill up for $15-$20. At this absurdly high price, to fill my car, I need about $25-$27.
Most of the gas stations around here are priced at 2.21 or higher for regular. The highest I have seen around here is 2.27 so far…
The last time I filled up it was 2.20, then it jumped the next day to 2.25. Cost me nearly 20 bucks for a little more then a half a tank. I drive a Civic, so it is fairly gas efficient, but with summer coming and the need for the A/C I am sure that it will bring my efficiency down. That reminds me I should top off my tank today so it is not so i don’t get sticker shock from my next gas purchase…
I paid $2.27 this morning. There are consistent rumors that gas will be $3.00 by the end of the summer.
I’m so glad I drive a Honda, especially since I drive about 80 miles to work, one way.
I’ve seen it range from 2.00 to 2.25 across the island, but I’m usually getting it for about 2.05 by my house. For some reason, it seems like the further east I drive, the higher the price gets. Anyone have an idea why?
$2.05 or so for “regular”. I paid $35 yesterday to fill my tank.
$2.49 for the cheap stuff.
Southern California.
$2.04 here in Ohio, although at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base it’s $1.89 at the little station. I just got a tank, although I was not supposed to get more than $5 worth of emergency gas, since I’m not military. Oops.
Whoops! Meant to add I saw on my midday news program that parts of California are over $4/gallon now.
That’s REGULAR, plain ol’ 87 octane.
Cheapest I’ve seen recently is $1.83/gallon.
I guess I’m lucky to get that price. Soon I’ll be in California, so it sounds like I’ll have to start working out the old legs in preparation.
We’re up to $1.90-$1.91 here.
And what is up with the tiny “9” at the end? Why don’t they just round it up? Why include it at all?
I just put gas in my car yesterday, and the cheapest in town is $1.98 here in Kansas.
My usual cheap station was at $1.81 today; I found another that was $1.77. I realize that’s only a few cents, but sheesh, for ten bucks I got about two-thirds of a tank. A few years ago, in Georgia, gas was running just under a dollar…I knew that was good, but I had no idea how good. And I realize that there are countries with MUCH more expensive gas, but this sudden spike really irritates me.
Yes, as whiterabbit said, cheapest around here is at $1.77[sup]9[/sup]. (Why DO they put that [sup]9[/sup] on? Do they really think they’re still fooling us?)
But to date myself, I still remember with great fondness the Great Gasoline War of Summer 1970 in Granville, Ohio, when I paid 19¢ a gallon for gas. $5 to fill the tank of my 1964 Ford Galaxie. Man, those were the days…
$2.01/gal. here in Maine, this morning. Although I’d been expecting it, it still seemed strange to see that “2”.
While I was out for lunch I saw a station with regular 87 octane for 2.32/gal. So that tops my 2.27/gal from my earlier post.
Approximately $1.95, though on the way home today I saw $1.99.
