I know this has been covered before, but I still like this explanation behind “spam”. 
I get between 200 and 600 a day depending on whether a couple of high traffic lists I’m on are being really high volume. A fair amount of personal mail too.
Spam’s a nightmare on my main account. I’ve had this account for 6 years and Mr P when he was a web neophyte put it on his website. In the last 24 hours I got 62 pieces of spam which were directly filtered to my spam file.
Good lord…
On my work e-mail I get maybe 3-5 a day. Sometimes none.
On my “junk” e-mail I get 1-3 a day. Sometimes none.
On my real and true e-mail, I’m lucky if I get one a day. And that’s including livejournal Reply To Your Post e-mails…
I’m up to 111 . . .
It’s now 9:21 PM: 24 hours later.
Final tally: 134 emails. Kinda light.
I get about 16 emails a day. Sometimes more. Just a few days ago I didnt check it for 2 days and I had 76 new ones when I did check. Out of that many, how many are actually emails for me? Usually none, or one at the most. The rest are ads for making my penis bigger (seeing as how I dont have one at all that’s pretty interesting), ads for “young hot college chicks” (not my sort of thing), etc.
Since I cleared the folder from last night, I’m up to 60, nearly half of the last experiment. I wonder what it’d be for a week!
This is an Earthlink email address. I do have a Yahoo one, and that one will of course get significantly more mail.
i used to get so much spam on hotmail that my friends couldn’t send me anything.
Now it’s down to 2-3spam, 10 letters/fwd s…
I know they say that it isn’t enough to block addresses.(i still do though)
Sometimes, if i do open some spam, and it sais :“press here to unsubscribe” then it works.(you press and a new window comes and sais you’ve been successfuly unsubscribed)
But watch out, those who ask you to re-write your email address to unsubscribe, they stop sending you emails, but they sell your addy to other companies.
Real email: 12-20/day
Spam: 250-400 day
Personal email: about 2 or 3 a day
Junk email: about 1 a day, restricted to one of my three accounts
Work email: anywhere from 5 to 30 a day
Work email: Usually 10-20 on an average day.
Home email: 5 to 10 personal emails, 3-5 mailing list emails, about 10-15 emails generated from forms on my web site for various submissions, and only 2 or 3 spams that make it past the filters. About a dozen spams that the ISP’s filter catches never make it to me, (ha ha, spammers! 
)
If I turned off the email notification here, I’d get almost no mail, for I am unloved and unwanted.

A couple hundred per day here. Yes, it’s a major PITA (pain in the ass). I made the mistake of having the “Contact Slacker” link on my website a mailto: link with my address for its few years. The addy harversters took hold of it and spam me with a vengence. 
I cleaned my box out Friday when I left and had 286 waiting for me Monday morning, about 97 % spam. Spammers, I curse thee.
Work e-mail address: Usually 10-20/day. All work-related, no spam.
Personal e-mail address: Around 10/day, I’d guess. Roughly 80% spam. So, 2 actual messages.
Yep, that’s how I obtained my high volume, too. That and participation in popular moderated email Digests (Info-Mac, anyone?), where my posts would show up with my email address.
I’ve gotten four emails so far today. That’s pretty high for me. Two were PayPal verifications, and then two were from a friend I was exchanging notes with. I get maybe two or three pieces of spam a week, and I don’t get email notifications from the SDMB or LiveJournal.
Between the four e-mail accounts that I maintain (2 for different jobs, one personal and one Yahoo for throwaway), I probably get about 500 e-mails a day. Of that, about 10-15 are valid, the rest are spam.
Just think of the opportunities I’ve thrown away, though. If I had just followed some of the links that my spam filter throws away, I’d have an 18 inch long dong, size 58FF boobs and I’d be filthy rich from all the commissions paid by the nice folks in Nigeria.
My work email account I get about 50-60 a day
My home email account which is kind of a catch-all of everyone I have known for the last 10 years or so I get about 35 emails
I have a BS hotmail account that I use for everything where I have to use a email to sign up for something like to register for something - I rarely check it but I probably get 300 spams a day there
Then I have a “private” account. I only give that address to family and close friends. Some days I may get no messages at all and some I may get only a few but it is my favortite.
